Too all those in the form that have a stand-up and a runabout with a single trailer I need to ask for input.. Was thinking of trying to put my 800sxr in the back of my Toyota P.U. (2x2) and was thinking of running a flat piece of plywood in the back of the bed with 2x4 rails to put the ski on.. My question to you guys is how do you get the ski out of the back of the bed when your at the lake if no one is there to help you.. Looking for ideas on how to load and unload at the lake.. I know there are ramps available to buy for this but I'm kinda trying to do it the cheap way instead.. Thanks for the input in adv.. Dave

Here's my $0.02.
-I would take the winch setup of the single trailer and mount it in the bed right by the cabin.
-Get an extra long strap for the winch.
-Make a set of bunks for the standup but make them longer than the ski.
-Set the "standup" bunks so they just wide enough to fit between the bunks on the single trailer and using some 2x4s(laying flat) screw them together making something that would looks like a ladder.
-With the help of some friends sit the stand up on the "sled" in the back of your truck and hook up the trailer.Leave the tail gate on the truck but leave it in the down position. That extra leangth will help you get the slead over the hitch.
-Now back your trailer with the sit down into the water and let it float away (all the way to my place )
-Now that the trailer is empty push the slead with the stand up out of the truck bed aiming it between the trailer bunks and keep pushing untill it leaves the trailer sliding on both sets of bunks.

Long enough for you???

To load up just winch the stand up first all the way onto the bed and then the sit down.

Just thinking out loud but it might work.

Anybody got a better idea?????

Wow Boris you said a mouthful.. Two things came to mind that would probably make me pass on that project.. Don't get me wrong though it's seems like a pretty complex idea.. First off the thought of mounting a winch in the back is out for me.. Second after reading my post I forgot to mention that I wouldn't be taking both skis at the same time.. I just mainly wondering how everyone is getting their stand-up's off the back of their trucks and reloading them back on without help.. I though may-be someone had a trick to it besides backing the whole back end of the truck in the lake.. As for letting the runabout float off till it hits your place in SW florida well that might take awhile before it reachs you.. Ha ha !!

Maybe I worded it wrong but I was thinking fo taking both shis to the lake at the same time.
The stand up would slide from bed to trailer to water and back.
The only problem would be getting the stand up out of the truck once you get home but a winch would solve that.

Start lifting weights... First off,you should never ride alone.Bring a friend along to help you unload and ride with.I see guys back way out in the water with standups,not real smart.There is a breather tube from your differential to the frame,not a good place to drain water into. 2 guys can pick up a standup from a tailgate to the water.

Make a search on EZload or EZramp, can't remember...

But that product is awesome.

Water woody.. Yeah I know how heavy them stand-ups are.. Thanks for the info on the breather tube.. Didn't know about that.. As for riding alone I know isn't really smart in some places but at the lake I ride at (Puddingstone) is so small that you can see people on the beach from the farest part of the lake.. Most of the time there is always someone riding near or by you to help out if your in trouble.. I was just looking for may-be some one who may-be had a unique way of getting of unloading and loading without help.. Guess I have to look into a ramp system like " 11" mentioned in the following post.. Okay thanks..

Well after reading all the posts and thinking about how heavy this standup is I came to a conclusion that I'm just gonna use the trailer to tow this ski to the lake.. The dilema I was having about using the trailer is that I would have to slide the bunks back and forth to switch between the runabout and standup.. Thinking about it I came up with a solution of just adding bunks between the bunks I already have and this way I will have a set for the runabout and a set for the standup.. The runabout bunks sit higher up and the standup bunks sit lower so when I put the runabout on the trailer the standup bunks won't interfer with the way the runabout sits on the trailer.. If anything I'm hoping it will add support to the bottom of the hull of the runabout.. Little confusing but understand ??

Check this site out. The salesman came and gave me a demo for our shop trucks. These things are slick and take up very little bed space. I think they were selling for $1200.00.

Kirk.. Thanks for the reply but the 1200 dollar price tag is way over my budget for what I wanna do.. Beside that the system is really more then I really want to put in my truck.. I think my previous post is the way I will have to go..
