I have a 1996 Waveblaster II that I have ridden for the last 3 years and have enjoyed, but would like to replace with something 2006 or newer. I have not ridden any newer skis but have been told that they will lack the handling and nimbleness of the Waveblaster.

Can anyone recommend something of current vintage that offers agressive handling, light weight, and good performance? I am more interested in handling than just overall top speed.

Let me preface by stating this is only an opinion.

You can't compare any `09 model to a WaveBlaster. Or any prior models (`06~08) for that matter. The GPR will be the most recent model that is "lightweight" and handles well. But even then it's completely different from a WaveBlaster. There are 4-strokes that handle well, but they will be heavier than the GPR.
