Hi everyone. I just purchased a 06 gp1300r, I've been using my stepdads 99 xl700 jetski cover until I get my own, it seems to fit alrite, but when I removed it, I noticed there are fine scratches all over the windshield of the ski. Is this common with covers, will this buff out most likely?

My HO gets scratched when I travel with the cover on, so I only use the cover when it is parked.

Jumper is right.... never pull the ski on the trailer with the cover on it, it will scratch it all up.

I actually put a bed sheet over hte hood before I put the cover on, andI only put the cover on when it is in storage for the winter. My ski is garaged all year round, I rather have the ski in the garage than the truck!

I prefer to leave the cover on when I am towing. I believe the cover has protected the ski when towed at highway speeds from road debris (rocks, sand, bugs, etc.). True the cover is nothing but a piece of cloth but at 70 MPH road debris is at least deflected by the cover. If I had a choice between the small scratches or crack winshield, I would take the small scratches.

Lay a soft towel over the windshield before you put the cover on and it will protect it from scratching.
