Last year I bought a 1997 Yamaha GP1200. It still has all of the original warning stickers (in both french and english).

i.e. do not board while motor is running, wetsuit should be worn while operating, etc, etc...

Last weekend I tried to remove some of them (at least the french ones), but the stickers arn't coming off very easily after being stuck to the hull for 9 years.

Anyone have any suggestions on how to get them off? Any clearners that will get them off?

Thanks,

- Grant

I use Xylene. You can find it at any major hardware store. Make real sure the area you're using it in is VERY well ventilated.

get a hair dryer and put it on high heat let it set on the sticker for 20 sec and start to pull the sticker off.

I used a heat gun and a plastic puddy knife to get it started and used goo gone to clean up the excess

A good sandblaster will work great. even some 80 grit sandpaper will remove the stickers.

80 grit sandpaper! Im pretty sure thats gonna wreck the finish if I do that.

I tried the combo of hairdryer + goo gone. This seems to work the best, still a slow process though.

thanks guys,

3-M adhesive and decal remover; (aerosol spray); spray it and wait a couple minutes, then use a plastic bondo paddle to scape away the decal.
