I can go out today and buy a stock boat that will do 120+, what's the coast guards problem with a 70mph ski??? I read about ski accidents all the time on 45mph ski's, it's not the ski it's the drivers.

Well, as long as there isn't any laws saying that there is a limit, how can they stop it? Until they implement a law mandating such a number, it is mearly an agreement and nothing more. Just look at NASCAR and the "gentlemen's agreement"! It went down just the same way, NASCAR had to actually make a rule and the gov't will have to do the same if they plan to stop these things. But as stated before, the companies can have that ski capable of higher speeds with minimal mods by the purchaser. It's all politics in my mind. Anytime the gov't gets involved things start going sour!! OK, I had to get that off my chest, I feel slightly better now...

It will be a 1300 injection with a supa-charger
and its going to be in a waveblaster hull

Well Like I said new affordable 4 strokes...and 5 more ponies for the gpr....but it might make a noticable differance ....maybe not enough to get the RXP out of the box...but with a few bucks you should go right by...tons a parts and lots of knowledge plus......"you" can still work on it!!!!!

Im not worried about the whole king of the lake by far the gpr will be the fastest for a couple more years.

Next year is when yami will release there new performance 2 seater.

I think Yami did a good thing...most people couldnt just go out and spend $10000 grand and not even get a trailer on just one jetski.

Plus better for the envoirment and better fuel ecconomy....might be a good boat for the wife, one of those cheapes!! and long as they hold up!!!

Johnny, if this was a family ski forum I would have to agree. But overall this is a sad day for performance enthusiasts. The new high pressure pump may be worth a look, but 5 more ponies . Where's the high performance 4 stroke we've been very patiently waiting for

I agree with ya voodoo....this is mainly a performance forum but the last year or two it has been getting a little more well rounded with differant people coming in.

But you should know better that the market is aimed at selling alot and not just a few. Yamaha will do just that next year. That is another reason polaris did so good this year. There boats perform decent for the average joe and are affordable.

And most familys are looking at two things when buying a water vehicle...

1. Do we buy a ski boat
2. Or should we by 2 jetski's

And at 10 grand a pop it's more than the average family can afford and thats about 85% of the U.S.A. and other countries.

I too was hoping to see yami put somthing out this year as far a new 2 seater but knew a couple months ago is was not going to happen this year.

I will buy a 4 stroke at some point but will wait till there is a proven performer that has been around a little while.

Almost thought about getting a new RXP and selling the gpr...

But if something goes wrong and you have no warranty...your done!!

so we will see what happens in the next year and see if it's time to sell the gpr....I might sell it and get an '05 and twick it. Im tired of working and a full mod boat plus there's not really anything else to do to it so might be time for another project..

Plus gas prices suck..!!!!!

Back in April, I told you guys no new Yamaha SC until next year - 06 models...but no...no one wants to listen to me...

I hear ya Johnny and you're right. Yamaha will sell a ton of these lower priced 4 strokes, but they just don't hold my interest.
