Also the hoods for the 15f's when are they going to be in stock.... They've been on back order for ages....

Is there any change from the 04 hoods? except colour of course?

Thanks again.

No drilling necessary. They're light enough to silicone in place. Use tape to hold in place overnight.

We're experiencing supply problems. It's looking like we won't be able to use carbon fiber any more. The government is soaking all of it up for HummVee reinforcement kits. Or so we're told. I'll be sure to post when they're available. Sorry for the delay.

The hoods are the same shape for `04~06 4-stroke models.

gr8, but why the bolts? It could get alittle expensive buying new plates each time they fall off?

Thanks about the hoods.... But why the problem with Carbon... even the originals are impossible to get hold of, well 05 anyway.. I guess its a 04 and a spray can.

Thanks

they fall of when siliconed on... well at least one has... So if anyone else buys the Riva block off plates for the 15f i'd suggest they don't silicone them on as suggested buy RC... these are no cheap throw away parts.... Now i have to order new ones... These i WILL drill and fix them... infact not so sure i'll bother to buy any more at the price.. looks like the mirrors will be back.

With the silicone fixing you cant get a good fit as you need to bolt the plastic housing in place before you silicone... so no flat surface to get a good "stick".

RC this was not really great advice.

I can understand your being frustrated, but it could be that you didn't use enough silicone, one of the surfaces the silicone was applied to was contaminated, the silicone was of an inferior quality, the silicone was old, the silicone didn't cure completely, some and/or all of the aforementioned combined.

We've installed many and haven't had any fall out. The ones we installed in our Offshore Race Kit test unit back in the spring are still on and it's been raced numerous times both here in the state and overseas.

Yeap i guess it was something like that. Or is it just not a wise thing to silicone over 3 pretruding bolts of about 5mm.... thats a complete surface area of 8mm of silicone needed! Umm...

Anyway... Its really no problem now as i have 1 and not the other... So i no longer have the problem...

Two suggestions though, if you are going to advise that the installation is with silicone then supply FLAT head bolts and not ROUND head, this will help with the installion. The second, is simple to bolt the block off plates in place.

Thanks.
