i havent used my stxr for 4 weeks,it wouldnt start,i thought it was the battery that was flat,
after testing it the battery was still fully charged,so i cleaned up the terminals and tried to start again but instaed of just clicking it started to turn over slowly but got faster,

so i put some fuel in each pot but still no joy .

if it was the battery it wouldnt start turning over faster would it???

is it an electrcal fault or is it just a dud battery

any ideas??

Steve,
You might have better luck posting this in Riva's new Kawasaki fourm....
If your battery checked out ok it must be your starter going out... Any time it turns over slow its the battery or starter.
I had a similar problem on my 98GP. I was able to take the starter apart, clean it up with some emory cloth and it worked like new agian. My problem was due to water intrusion. I think water condensed inside the starter because I always left the seat on after riding.... Now I always leave it off untill its completly dry inside the hull. (wich only takes about a day here in AZ... or less if you leave the seat off while trailering it home.)

you might also want to check the cable connections at the starter and relay.

First thing would be to jump from your car/truck's battery.
If it doesn't work then I'd jump the starter directly.
