Does Riva have a Fuel/Air separator? Im looking to add it to the 15f SC. Will the fuel pump be enough or does the SC kit come with a new fuel pump.

No, we don't utilize fuel/air separators. Our 15F-SC Kit does come with a larger fuel pump that directly replaces the stock fuel pump. We also include a fuel regulator that is preset.

Fuel regulator?
Im trying to dig deep to find out if this Fuel/Air Seperator will even work do to the fuel injectors needing a constant fuel pressure.
That and fuel injection has no return fuel lines where the bubbles are usually dumped. Just snooping to get info. Do you have any idea on this. Im also looking into other items on this boat.
If these Qs sound dumn than please excuse me, Im still thinking 2 stroke with a rack of carbs.

I doubt you would have to worry about vapor locking or anything. Even out in Hernando Beach at the west end of Hwy 50, the water is almost 90 degrees. My yami used to run a little warmer in the flats, but that's with open loop cooling. I wouldn't really question the millions of $$ that Yami(and riva) has spent over years of R&D.

Don't sweat it dude, ride the sh*t out of it Wink

Vapor Locking?
Im not a MMI grad but I believe a fuel/air separator prevents air bubbles making it to the carbs or jets. This small bubble will cause a breif LEAN condition that will cause detenation. This is not good on a competition ski and something I want aviod on a supercharged motor. Often guys run just enough fuel to make a moto and a few restarts. The gas always sloshes around and minute bubbles are formed. By the time those little guys get to the motor it forms a larger bubble. Tank foam has its problems so the fuel/air separator seems to be the best conclusion. Oh and im not questioning the millions on R&D. This is a well known problem in race skis. Check out Group K and evan NOVI.
So Im still not sure if this item will work on a fuel pump DI motor. Would hate to go to the foam. I was hoping RC would know and I could order from them to keep a total RIVA package. Im over collecting part from all over and then working my ass off to get them to work together.

I have installed a few of those V/S kits, thanks for the info though. As for supercharging, i work with motors on a daily basis with 30+(F.A.S.T. & DFI Gen VII) lbs of boost, anything else you you can enlighten me on?

I Apolgise for intruding on you post and forum, it must be hard for someone that knows anything to accept some constructive criticism.

Yes, we block off the return line for our supercharger kit so that all the fuel supplied to the fuel rail goes to the motor. We haven't run into a problem with lean conditions due to air in the fuel delivery system. Being that Factory Kawi designed this kit initially I'm sure they would have utilized a fuel/air separator if they felt it was necessary.

We've always recommended the use of fuel cell foam whether you're racing competitively or wave jumping. Anything you can do to keep the fuel level stationary is beneficial.

If I came off as a know it all than sorry I dont know all. I am looking for info not contraversy. The Vapor Lock is something I know nothing of. My abilities are limited to 2 stroke motors. I guess Im over forcefull with my post, have had the "something in a cup speech" from RC. So my question is answered? Foam is the way to go. Just a pain in the #%@ to get it out. Thought I could use the fuel air sep to get around that corner.
So sorry again.
I find this to be a common response with all engine biulders. I myself can get huffy when questioned about my work.

I've always found the opposite to be true. And with the pick-up the 15F utilizes it's going to be even trickier. Just curious. Why would you take out the foam once it's in? Confused

Sunk a ski once and had water get into the tank. Had to completely remove the tank to get foam out. That and over time it is a good idea to replace the old foam with fresh new foam. Fuel filter has had foam particles in it also.

Oh my other question is on oil for the motor. I wanted to use a AMS oil product. Fully synthetic. What is recommended? I plan on changing the oil after every race weekend. That should be about 10 hrs practice and 2 hrs race so roughly every 15 hrs. Too much? Too little?
