Can a free flow exhaust be set up on a STXR ? it looks to me like it could work, but , has anyone ever tried this? if so any gains ?

Depending on the class structure you are racing in it can be done, If you plan staying in the stock APBA class I don'y believe it can be changed. I used a 37 degree bend piece of PVC electrical conduit and it worked great. Before that we used a top of an aerosol paint can and sealed the resonator with expandable foam.
