They will be issueing out a 2-Seater and a 3-Seater. Top side will be different, below Rub rail the same. Weight approx. 850lbs. Already a handfull of these skis built and a couple of guys will be receiving them at their shop soon to test. I heard this from a Trusted source. We will be riding these for next spring and it will change PWC's forever once you slap on a comparable stage 1 kit to open up that blower.

Well I hope they come out with something. I promised the other half that we would buy a 2nd ski or 2 new skis for '06.... it is going to be hard to tell her to wait until '07.

If they've already sunk the development and mold costs into the ski, you may see it. If not, don't hold your breath. There's liable to not be much of an industry left in 2007 with gasoline predicted to be well over $3.00 a gallon by then and still rising. There is a looming worldwide oil crisis and people are going to be forsaking fossil fuel burning non-necessities like pwc and boats. Kawasaki and Yamaha are devoting quite a bit of corporate resources to the development of more fuel efficient motorcycles - 125cc models that get a real 100mpg and can do 65mph. Probably be a lot more demand and profit in that market than skis that burn 10 gallons an hour at WOT. Other than us nutcases, the public is going to start using fuel a bit more responsibly.

Just a couple more days of suspense before we know what is in store for 2006. I got my fingers crossed and am ready to go to the dealer to place a deposit if the SC is truely coming.

What are you basing your "No SC this year" comments on?
If its the Disny show, well they don't have the new single seater there either that is on Kawi Japans site. |
||||
|
The Dealer show is for dealers to see the new line up. At that time they order the number of units they want for the year. If it aint at that show then they cant order it.

Kawi did that once and never since. They all have gotten away from limited production race skis. Rumors are just that. Rumors. There will be a SC boat at the World Finals. It will be all green with a huge a$$ RIVA sticker on it...... If you remeber the XiR was made because of John Stevens so he could race that boat in the new IJSBA rules. It was just a Xi with the modified bottom hull. Engine was the same as a Xi.

Well, so I guess there is no new sc ski from Kawi.
We are left to the 15F and race gas prep SC combo from Riva. Maybe next time. -- CUE |

Yes it seems to be next year unless they feel its not worth the service headaches. I myself am let down. Yes I have a SC Kawi myself but I really wanted a stock river runnig boat for the girlfriend to ride.
I do hope and prey this SC boat comes out. Its funny all the guys that said "ya my friend working with it now. its 850 - 900 lbs" with a new top deck. I was jumping for joy when I saw the patent, but I guess the Kawi guys are holing out for a more competative market. Sucks because they could have had a year of being on top but they chose for another time when choices will be plenty. Dumb A$$e$. Sick to think of what Yamaha is going to unleash in 07. Im sure Seadoo is looking hard to come up with something new. Maybe a RXP that race worthy. They can do like Kawi and call it a RXP-R. |

This is not going to be a good thing at 950 lbs. More like a tanker.....

as far as a closed course boat it would have to go on a serious diet but then again for a rec ski the added wait may very well be a blessing,, i can tell you this though,,even at 950 lbs i have heard the prototypes are a low 70mph ski,,that is second hand info though,,so take it with a grain of salt.i know kawasaki purchased 2 rxp`s in 2004 and have been testing them against these prototypes.
