quote: Jonny5, I never said in the board that I was expecting to go as fast as Mac's, or Farthing factory kawi 15F S/C race boats, this words come from your mouth NOT from mine, what I said is if Riva come up with a good "recreational" S/C package that can reach at least 250HP on the dyno on pump gas combined with a good aftermarket "bluprinted" solas concord prop using the stock oem "axial flow" pump NOT the aftermarket magnum scat track pump that are known to scrub at least 2 to 3mph on the top end, I think that any of this S/C boats are goin to be very tough to beat, remember that most of us in this board don't care about IJSBA racing because we are a bunch of "weekend warriors grudge racers" and our main goal is to become the fastest guy in our local waters, to prove this, why you don't ask some of the fastest guys from the board, like Jay, Razzbo, Fercho, fullboggie, coop, Carl from island racing, Superseadoo (Jim Milliken) to just mention a few if they care about IJSBA racing?? THEY DON'T!!!!! This message has been edited. Last edited by: Gpr/STX-15F/RXT, |

Unfortunately the stock pump's aren't strong enough for the SC's horsepower. That's why we went to a Magnum Pump for our FX-HO SC Kit. We were blowing the veins out of the stock stator's!

I AM challenging you !
now put up or shut up ! let's hear some results of this easy-as-pie mod Naples, FL 2003 STX 12F 320 Hours...... Traded in for 2007 Ultra 250X 28 hours and going up fast !! |

do these 15f's handle any different than my stx-r, coz my stx-r is a bit skippy in light chop,
is there any difference in performance if the skiis are both stock, what would happen in a race, when riva bring a kit for the 15f and people post speeds ,i can see the stxr being chopped in for a 15f even though its just run in. |

R590120 or whatever..you are full of crap. There is no 15F pulling 400hp..during the recent KAwi SC testing they pulled 350 hp and blew it up. Got 350 hp again, put it on the water had to use a modified GPR SKat Trak pump to keep it in the water amd keep the viens from blowing out..they eventually blew that engine up also..not sure where your info is coming, but it's a bunch of crap.
RIVA will release an aftermarket SC, fuel management and recommended prop/pump change. This kit will produce about 240-250hp and will reach speeds of 75-77mph..a far cry from your rocketship b.s. numbers. If that ski was real it would be on every board with a thousand pictures showing it's existence. Hate to tell you, but it will be a while before ANY Joe Blow garage tuner will have a 85+ mph ski that will be reliable and beat the 2 stroke world record HOLDER GPR. If you got it...show it or run and tell "them" we call b.s. The changes this year that will allow the 13R to compete, will help even the playing field somewhat. No doubt the 4's are going to make a huge step this year...but, for God's sake, don't get carried away. '01 1300 BB w/ triples, Special K porting, PistonWash tuning...85.2 mph. |

quote: skippy? i right in chop all day and have never had that problem |

its only when i'm racing flat out in one ft chop the odd wave catches me out and ive come off twice, this is my first kawi and have owned 2 gp's, they porpoise to much thats why ive gone for the kawi, the yamaha gpr seem to track better and was more prodictable, the kawi seems to skim over the water rather than carve, i went out with my mate last week and had a go on his gpr to see if i miss my old one, theres no way i'd go back after the whipping i gave him lol!
i thought he broke down when we hole shot i was that far ahead the first thing i noticed when riding the stx-r is when riding the gpr through the chop you have to ease off the throttle to stop it porpoising where the kawi hammers through it,maybe its just going through the chop faster |

it's just going through the chop faster
i am 5'10" 268 lbs. and i guess my weight helps keep that thing planted. the only things i have done so far are sponsons and a set of renthal handle bars from an 03 KX85 dirtbike and a set of odi grips. next on the list are an intake grate, prop, cdi, shimmed and modded ride plate, rejetted carbs and maybe the stinger mod |

GPRSTX....not bagging you personally ...but people are getting carried away with the stxr 15f and saying after I throw on this S/C there will be no compition no where....
Im not saying the stxr is a bad boat I would take....There great. Are they the best well in some ways for some people and for some ways not. they do hook up great which is a plus on there part.....but still around the nation on the racing seen.....the gpr and stxr still swap for first all the time.....I've betten enough of them and had them get by me too.... Now on a ruff water day thats very choppy a stxr will more than likley pull ahead on a smooth water or small and minimal chop a gpr will likely stay ahead .... And with a little help on the gpr hull and some other mods it seems to have no prob staying with or pulling ahead of a stxr.....Modified hull of course. They are both great boats in my opinion...that each shine in it's own area... Another thing to remember is that we on these boards and other forums and racers alike still only make up about 5 to 10 % of the pwc market...So for the average joe wanting the fastest and badest thing..there probaly going to buy a RXP.......and for the average family they will more than likely look at the very affordable Yami Vx......making them the two top selling boats for next year I think....we will see..... |

i dunno if the weight makes any difference but i know the sponsons make it track better, as i go skiing with my mate who has a gpr if i put sponsons on it i would loose that vital one mph on top end,we are neck and neck at the mo but i always end up winning coz the we ride at sea and the gpr comes unhooked on the smallest ripple. |

jonny5
you right each ski has its advantages, i think the gpr is at home on the lake, and the stxr rules the sea |

quote: I rode today and ran against a Stage II XLT1200 it was pretty good runs.. we were neck and neck the entire way maybe 1/4 to an 1/8 boat length between us at most |
