Riva supposedly ran it with 3/4 tank. After the top speed run, I put in about 16 gallons of fuel. My 250X low fuel buzzer comes on after using 13.5 gallons of fuel.

We test with 1/3 tank of fuel.

Our 66 was achieved using a production model. The Dream Demo unit was a pre-production model.

hey kawi allen i see in your sig that your gpr ran 72.9 , thats too funny thats exactly what my 03 gpr ran

well i might as well add to my own post . i have over 50 hrs on my ultra 250 now and the best ive seen on my gps was 67.9 , i dont always take the gps with me so i may have run faster at some point

it was real windy that day i ran 67.9 so it might run a little faster under perfect conditions

My Ultra 250X is much faster in the chop and with some mods ill be hitting the low 70s. It has amazing handling just like a motorbike in the corners.

ohh yeah nobody has yet to be able to keep up with my ultra 250 in rough water, i love when i run away from rxp's in a 1 to 2 foot chop .

its only weak point is top speed in glass water but hopefully the aftermarket will solve that soon

it carves turns great too . you mention motorcycles , do you ride ?

Riva Crew: how much speed will the 250x lose on top end in humid 85+ degree heat? I've heard p[eople talking about it before, just wondering how significant it would be?

There is no one answer. There are too many other factors that come into play.

Mine with Riva Stage I Minus Intake Grate & Ride Plate 65.1 89 to 90 degree but on a 100 degree day only 62 to 63 mph

Personally, I THINK THE ULTRA 250 IS VERY Sensitive to HOT AIR !!!

That honestly seems kind of slow for a boat that has 250hp. My 1100 zxi would do a top speed of 60mph with only 120hp. I am guessing that the 250 is a whole lot heavier than the 1100zxi. Not trying to peev anybody, the math just doesn't make sense.

Not only is the 250X significantly heavier than a 1100ZXi, there is more surface contact (wetted area of the hull) which causes more drag.

And yes, the 250X is sensitive to heat and humidity. This is the case for most 4-stroke PWC today.

higgins, yes the top speed numbers might not be much of a difference, considering the HP differences, but a 250x is a torque monster and will smoke an 1100zxi out of hole all the way to 60.
