Just to check Mark, you added the GPR option just for you and Joe, didn't you?
Everything 100%!!! |

No,
I added the 2005 late release for my own little dreams. I added the Yamaha button for Corp Kawi...and chose it since it is the best ski for the average person, like myself Looks like I caught my first catch of the day. Mark, according to the people from Vortech, the company that make the S/C to team Kawasaki the new 15F S/C wont't be available to the public until year 07

The SC that Factory Kawi uses in their race craft is a V5. The same one we use in our FX SC Kit. We have the exclusive for Vortech Superchargers for PWC. Team Kawi approached us last year when they decided to switch SC manufacturers. We gave Vortech the ok to sell Factory Kawi the V5 SC's. And now Factory Kawi is working with us to make a SC package for the 15F for distribution to the public.

Jarrett, as soon as Riva release this new S/C intercooled kit for the Kawi 15F 4 stroke boats, most of the 2 stroke boats out there are goin to become a piece of HISTORY!!! beating one with a "force induction" S/C 15F would be like a "walk in the park" race trust me

Just adding a S/C to a 1500 cc four stroke is not going to make a 64mph water craft do 75+...
Not saying it wont happen but dont expect a S/C to make you have somthing close to what Factory Kawi had..... Guess we will have to see what happens in a year... Gpr will still be the over all grudge machine for 05 and maybe 06 till the four stroke get another year or R&D and new boats that may come out..... Kawi 15F s/c 06...new Gprx 4stroke...."New design" We will see..... |

A supercharged 15F would easily do 200hp and some change for high 60s top speed, but top speed has never been the STX's forte and it would go there pretty *** quick.
Look at what a 220 hps triple piped, magnum pumped STXR can do, the heavier 15R on a stock pump would do almost that. 11 This message has been edited. Last edited by: 11, Everything 100%!!! |

quote: R/C, do you know for what reason the people from team kawasaki desided to switch SC manufacturers? do this was because price, desing, or maybe because they don't like the poor quality workmanship from the other S/C manufacturer? please R/C, "let the cat out of the bag" and tell us the complete story thanks, Ray |

There really isn't much to it. We had the first ever running SC kit for a production PWC. Kawi (Kanamouri) was working on their own thing just as a research & development project in `03. It worked well enough, but they weren't achieving the results they wanted/needed. Kanamouri came over to our booth in Havasu in `03 to check out our set-up. He and I threw some ideas around. Soon after that we got the call from Vortech that Kawi was interested in switching SC vendors. By this time we were getting close to acquiring the Kawi franchise we now have so naturally we said ok to foster our relationship. It was never explained to us why they switched vendors. But, soon after the switch they were achieving the results they were looking for. In fact, they were producing too much power. The intake trac had to be reinforced and the intake grates made less agressive as they were being ripped out from the tremendous load they were being subjected to. That's one of the reasons for the less than desirable handling characteristics Mac & Farthing experienced in Havasu this year. We hope to overcome this with our production kits.

riva crew,,it has been rumored that the reason kawasaki dont release a production sc15f is because riva has the exclusive (patten) on the vortech SC set up and it would be illegal for them to produce a sc ski without legal consent from riva and to eliminate a lot of red tape they agreed to let you built an after market kit for the 15f for the first year and then riva agreed to release the patten to kawasaki so they can produce it as a factory assembly line unitin 2006 ?

That couldn't be any further from the truth. We don't hold the patent on Vortech's V5 Supercharger. Vortech does. We have exclusive rights to anything pertaining to watercraft and the use of a Vortech Superchargers.
Also, if Kawi were to manufacture a production craft with a supercharger or turbocharger I'm sure they would do something on their own. It's obvious they don't mind spending money to develop and produce new watercraft (EG - 800 SX-R). RIVA CREW Please post and ride responsibly!!! |

I am not that sure Kawi is ready to spend that much and the SXR is a bad example because it's really not a new ski, its motor is derived from the SXI/SXI pro platform, same pump, the pole is the same ole POS, even the hull is derived from the pro.
Actually everything that is completely new is the redesigned top deck, not much money by Kawi's standards. The SXR to the 1993 SX what the 2005 1300R is to the 2000 12R, maybe even less. In 5 years the GPR has evolved more than the Kawi standups line up has in 12 and the SXR still has carburetors, at least the GPR has the injection now. As much as I would like to see Kawasaki releasing a 15R I don't believe in it anymore, as a matter of fact after looking at what happened to Polaris I start wondering if they will ever release any new model, drop the stand ups in 2006 (at least in USA), produce the runabouts as long as they sell and do like Polaris the day they stop making money. 11 Everything 100%!!! |

quote: As far as dollar's and sense go the SXR is a perfect example. Runabouts outsell Stand-ups significantly. Yet Kawi invested a lot of money in building a new stand-up. When it comes down to it almost every craft has something in it from a previous model. Comparing Polaris to Kawi is like comparing apples to olives. Kawi has a distinct advantage in that they're an overseas company that has a much deeper well to draw from financially. The only sure way to know is to wait and see... quote: Well RC I am pretty sure it cost Yamaha more money to come up with the EFI than it cost Kawasaki to overbore a 12 years old motor and make new molds for the hull and deck. Like the 15F is a 2000 STX DI hull with a new hood and a modded bike engine in it, like the STXR is the same hull with an Ultra motor... The RXP might be a POS but its hull, motor and pump were all designed in the 21st century, SeaDoo is probably puting much more money in PWCs than any other company and even though the results are sometimes laughable they sell very well. I agree Kawasaki is a much bigger company than Polaris but if PWCs stop make them money, they will pull the flush. 11 Everything 100%!!! |
