Now available from RIVA Racing:

PRODUCT:

RIVA Pro-Series Sponson Kit

APPLICATION(S):
2007 Kawasaki Ultra 250X & Ultra LX

PART#:
RK26090

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:
Our sponsons deliver a significant improvement over the stock sponsons through superior blade and backing plate design. Sponson blades are secured to the backing plates via our bulletproof mounting system. Rather than use fender washers that can bend or break we provide billet inserts that are pressed into sponson fins. The backing plate is precision machined from billet aluminum to be as light as possible while maintaining strength and then anodized to prevent corrosion. Sponson depth and forward/aft position are adjustable to control the amount of influence they have on the craft. Easy installation requires no drilling.

    -Speed loss or gain?

    This craft already turns very well. What EXACTLY do these $350 sponsons do for this craft. That description is pretty vague.

    I edited the description to include the part I omitted.

    The stock sponsons are fixed. You are unable to tune them to varying conditions and speeds.

    Yes, the price is higher than sponsons we've offered previously. However, there is a lot more material for the backing plate, the price of which has gone up significantly in the past year, and there is a tremendous amount of machining involved (see detail shot) to make them as light as possible without sacrificing strength. Our Pro-Series Sponsons are intended for both recreational and competitive use. The Ultra's are pretty large and heavy. We felt than anything less than what we designed would not hold up to the stress they will be subjected to.

    Took about ONE HOUR on a mill, about a year ago on the gpr Riva sponsons.

    The riva sponson plates pull away from the backing plate under heavy cornering. You need to consider putting a FRONT screw on those paddles. I can't count how many broken Riva left paddles I've seen over the years.

    Not sure how many you've seen, but we haven't had that many requests for replacement sponson blades (warranty or to purchase).
