Found a stock Ultra 150 and need to be able to hang with a couple of modded GP1200Rs and 1300Rs in some glass conditions but mostly rough lakes that are known to have 3-4 chop on occasion. Looking for a set up that will work in these conditions and to be stable @ high speed. The ski can take a GPR out of the hole, just want more top end with stabiltiy. What's a few good set ups?

First thing you need to address is the rideplate. Either get it modded or get a shreadmaster.

Beach House sponsons, a shredmaster rideplate, and an extended nozzle.

Maybe in your neiborhood they can't win but where I ride even the stock Ultra's beat the riva stage 1 Gpr's. Let me be clear I'm sure their are very fast Gpr's and I don't doubt anyones speeds but the fast Gpr's never seem to make it to the lakes I ride. Ken

Group K head mod, worx sponsons, hydro-turf mats and I forget which prop I had. Solas maybe. One of the La. guys at Mudbug had a fast '99 with ADA heads. Doyle was fun guy, we'll run again next year.
I'm with you RX951 nOT!

WOW, ive got to go all the way to Lousianna to find Fast Gpr's but you say their ALL faster than a stock Ultra!!!

I admit the Top dogs(80 club) right now are faster than an even a modded ultra but the stock guys Are Not!! Even with 170hp the 05's are getting dusted here.Ken

I was waiting for this to get started. All good. You don't have to go as far as Lousiana. There was several Ultras @ Mudbugs but they chilled out by themselves most of the time and I seam to remember the 1 guy who ran on the radar only ran 64. I'm getting old so my memory could be a little off. I'm sure there are some guys in your neck of the woods that can show you how a GPR has to be riden to beat an Ultra. I tell you, I went out the other night on the Ultra with a friend who has an 05 GPR. The Ultra had less fuel and my buddy weights about 20 lbs more than me and both skis are bone stock. We ran about the same in every condition, dead stop to WOT, 25 punch, WOT he would barely pull away from me. Always the same, until, we hit chop @ wot, then my nads said I was not as good as I once was! Little to unsettling. All I can say kard is either you must be realy skinny and only keep a gallon or 2 in your ski or you have one of those "Special" Ultras I keep hearing about. Big Grin

My GPR(stock) ran 65.4, the '05 ultra did 65.1 with 2.5 hours on it. Doyles(99 ultra) was faster than mine, but with ada and carb work and who knows what else. He didn't show his stuff til late sunday. All at Mudbug.
RXPStan drove from Ga.with a FAST RXP.
I had a '99 ultra and loved it. It just threw a rod thru the cases at 100 hours(12 months old), thank for the ext. warr.

at mudbug me and nando were riding with a blue ultra i think it was a 2004 or 2005 i dont know
but he had some mods and ran damm good (kinda like a stage 2 on a gpr)up to 68 or 69 about 4 to 6 ski links behind us after that we just smoked it Big Grin
