My friend had a zxi1100. I forgot to ask the year. It sat for about a year. I got it running but now it has electrical problems. The tach only works when you push the trim switch (up or down). Trim does not work at all in either manual or auto mode. The fuel gage also does not work. Before I dig into this does anyone have any ideas or maybe has seen this before?

Ok, found the problem. Electrical connector (small wire) at the battery terminal had corrosion under the wire insulation that could not be seen. I cut the connector off with about 6" of wire and crimped a new connector on.
Problem solved.
