Ray, Do not know what kind of prop. Carl does. This guy weighs 160lbs so he can pull 5 boatlengths on any of us. But real world is in a quarter mile race He beats me to the line every time. After that RXP says good bye. If you go from a roll RXP very dangerous.

mtrager, thanks for the info, if this moded STX-R goes neck and neck with A RXP from the hole for at least a 1/4 mile distance then it is true that have a awesome holeshot performance like you said. About the brand of your friend custom prop, I bet that it is a Solas Concord because this is Carl, favorite brand.

Most of Cues mods are acceleration biased. Indeed Curtis could pick up another 3-4 mph by just changing the reduction nozzle and using a Solas Concord or Nujet impeller.

The +3mm nozzle and 13/21 Skat-Trak is what makes the acceleration so brutal and you lose the top speed. This is not a commercially available Skat-Trak Swirl either.

The Following modifications nets 68 to 68.5 mph on the STX-R:

ADA head w/42cc domes
Modified CV carbs
Tau Ceti flame arresters
Ported intake manifold
Delta 2 V-Force reeds
Indexed extended reach plugs
SP2S Dominator 3 exhaust system
Modified R&D ride plate
Modified Nujet impeller
Stock intake grate with middle bar cut out
Extended turn nozzle

6 mph increase over stock, absolutely arm pumping mid range acceleration (bottom end does spin a little with the Nujet (a compromise).

If you wanted to add 48 Novis, 70-71 mph is the norm... and yes that is single pipe.

I have a customer in PR using D3 pipe on his Group K Stage 2 STX-R and he's getting 71.5 mph out of his ski. Perhaps you know him Ray?

We have posted most of our STX-15F mod findings on our website and PWCToday.com

James, for this same reason is that I told you in my last mail that I would prefer the Solas Concord on my level 1 15F package over the custom skat-trak prop Wink by the way, in my personal opinion, the Nujet prop is NO NO on any of this boats, it would kill the boat holeshot almost completely, trust me, I have been there done that Wink.

James, I agree with you 100% on this Wink

James, we have a couple of moded single pipes STX-R in our riding area that are hauling ***, I assume that one of them can be the boat from a guy named Juan Carlos from the town of Arecibo or maybe it can be Mingo's boat, from the town of Sabana Grande, this two boats terrorized our local riding area, both of them eats S/C RXP'S for breakfast.

p.s. I hope to be not so far away from them with my PE level one kit.

PLEASE, for God sake james, check your mail, thanks, Ray

Ray,

His name is Carlos yes. But I think he is from Alturas. I've sent parts to a customer in Sabana Grande as well.

You can make the Nujet work with the right tweaks but yes, it does cavitate a little out of the hole. The hindsight is that the mid range and top end is better than anything else, hands down. We do alot of grudge racing on rivers here in Tx, sometimes racing for 5-6 miles without letting off. That extra 1 to 1.5 mph is THAT important...lol

I will reply to your e-mail in the morning..

Yes, i saw it and it looks very good, BUT before you buy one try to get in touch with James, he can do some "improvements" to this Air Plenum kit.

Yes, we are talking about the same guy, Alturas is the name of his neighbourhood. Believed or not James, this two moded STX-R are Mingos and Juan Carlos (recreational boats) there two REAL race boats are a couple of fully moded 99' triple pipes ultras one of this two boats (Mingos) was builted completely in the states from the one and only Mr. Darren Hedlund the guy in charge of Team Kawasaki world champion boats in the past, this engine have the crankcases blueprinted, cylinder porting, MSD total loss, novis 48'carbs, v-force reeds, skat-trak magnum pump with a custom prop, etc....this boat also have a carbon fiber seat and hood and it runs only on 100% race gas and it stops the stalker radar gun at 77 mph BUT it get there "LIKE A BLINK OF AN EYE"!!!!!

James, you need to come down here sometime to see how fast this guys moded kawasakis really are, we are like a BIG family, we are always together and we only race our boats against the other brands the Yamahas and Sea Doo's we don't race against each other this are our local rules, this is a NO NO here, if you break the rules then you are by your own, we only race against each other on private places when (some one of the family) put a new mod to his boat like a new custom prop, aftermarket carbs, reeds etc...to see the improvements (if any) and right after that the guy that did the mods share with the rest what exactly he did to his boat.

I agree with you on this, this was exactly what I found when I tested a custom "speedfreak" repitched nujet prop on my moded 01' stage 2 70 mph Gpr in the past, i had the best midrange and top end speed BUT the holeshot well...... Roll Eyes

I will reply to your e-mail in the morning..

Thanks, Ray

Just got my R&D air Filter installed on my STX-12F, sounds mean !!
I bought the one that keeps the stock look and feel of the airbox, I think the price was 49.00
You simply remove and take apart your airbox, then remove the metal Flame arrestor. The replacement filter fits into that area snugly when you combine the 2 halves of your stock airbox.

R&D did not include any instructions with it at all, and they also included a black clamp in the box, which has absolutely nothing to do with this mod.
They are refusing to answer my Instant messages and have not responded to my email asking about the black clamp.
I called a couple times and left my number for Glen to ask a question about the vacuum hose, no callbacks either.
Terrible customer service-let's hope the airbox works better than the guy answering the phone over there.

Wednesday I'll hit the waters and report back.

Another thing, the new 12F/15F ride plate is not available yet even that their web site say that it is already but according to them it would be by next week. The optional reverse hardware kit is in stock and ready to be shipped.

Hello,
I recieved my Filter, but there are no instructions in the box.
I understand the filter replaces my old metal Flame Arrestor, but i am wondering what the black Clamp is for that you included in the box.
Thanks, let me know,
Todd

I recieved a reoky from R&D concerning the small Black hose clamp
here's what they said:

"the black clamp is used if you want to clamp the stock black hose so it doesn't flap around inside the box. You dont have to use it unless you chose to.

Thank You."

Anyone with a 12F or 15F ?

my airbox has a very large Inlet hose, but no small hoses flailing around inside the airbox.
Maybe they are thinking of another ski and just made a mistake by including it in the box.

Todd,

how many times did you have to e-mail the people at R&D before you got a reply? I e-mail them all the time and never get a response. Frown

I'm glad I can get R&D products from my distributors, because if I attempted to get them directly from R&D, I am out of luck..lol

GprSTX-15F, I got you PM and meant to reply but simply forgot.... I am sorry about that. I am thinking about doing exactly as James mentions above and switch out my reduction nozzle for a different size and go with the Solas prop for that 3-4 mph increase.

When I do that... which will be very soon... I will do what you asked me to do if you are still interested.

Once again, sorry it has taken me so long to reply.

Thanks

Curtis

James, I am interested in picking up the "special" Solas prop and the different size nozzle to gain that extra 3-4 mph....

What size nozzle will I need?
What is the Solas prop configuration?
Also, do I need to remove the AAT and go back to a "stock" configuration before installing the Solas?

I question sometimes if my shuttle is actually moving in and out like it is supposed to.

Thanks. I am ready to buy ASAP. Will there need to be anything else on my boat configuration listed below that I need/should change...

ADA Heads
PE Dominator D1 exhaust porting
PE Modified Waterbox
PE Dual engine cooling line upgrade
PE Modified Waterpipe for dual cooling
PE Water restrictor mod
PE "blueprinted" Skat-Trak 13/21
PE +3mm exit nozzle
PE Extended turn nozzle
PE Modified R&D plate
PE Modified OE intake grate
PE Modified/rejetted carbs
Beach house sponsons
Adjust a thrust (using 2 inch shuttle w/ spacer)
Tau Ceti Flame Arrestors
Tiny Tach

Hi Curtis, it's ok don't worry, any way I make up my mind about the info that I sent you on my PM, the people from R&D are about to release the new 12F/15F ride plate and they claim an increase of 3 MPH over the stock oem plate, hahaha!!! (of course I know that this is B/S Wink from my own experience in the past I don't expect more than a 1.5 to 2 mph difference (I am a old wolf in this business) been there done that, "sometimes most of this aftermarkets companys web sites looks more like the fantasy web site (Ebay) than anything else Wink any way I hope to be testing this new plate by the end of next week and I would post all the results in the board asap!!!. To make this test the most accurate as possible I just bought from my local Radio Shack store a (Hygrometer) part # 63-1032 that display indoor/outdoor temp. and humidity readings I would use it along with my garming Gps (Gps 12 model) to give before and after mph and temp. readings results from the same spot after the R&D plate mod then after the test is completed I would send it to PE to mod the plate to see if there is any difference in speed after the mod, then i would do the complete N/A PE level 1 package as soon is available. Our local temp. today according to my R/S Hygrometer at exactly 11:45 am (eastern time) is 80.4 f outdoor/ 79.5 f indoor with 60% humidity brrrr COLD..... hahaha, sorry since I only have a 62mph stock boat (for now) and can't brag about how fast my boat is I have to brag about something else (our local weather), have a nice day all, Ray
