Yes, but you also need to order the optional reverse gate hardware kit from them otherwise you can't use the oem reverse system, this new 12F/15F plate should be in stock and ready to be shipped by next week.

Cue, i am also looking foward to see how much more top end speed you can get from your boat after the (prop and reduction nozzle change). I was told by my local kawis guys that James, delivers what he promise, let's see how true is this Wink.

I can never get anyone at R&D to reply to any of my e-mails and every time I call, no one knows where Glen is, or knows *anything* about the offerings for the 15F so....

We will be marketing our own intake for this application. It should be cheaper, lighter and attract less heat than the R&D unit and I will put it to the test as soon as I can get a turn-key built and broken in (so we will see how it performs). All I need is a couple more warm days! I should have pictures of the prototype on and off the boat by monday evening.

As far as the 15F ride plate, I wonder what R&D did differently in the design than their STX-R plate? Yet another question for those guys. Probably have to get one from one of my distributors to know the answers.. Roll Eyes

Today, i made a phone call to R&D to check the status of the new "miraculous" 12F/15F ride plate to place an order for one BUT for my surprise they said that it was not ready yet but that it would be by the end of the week or (maybe) by next week....can you beleive this?? Roll Eyes I was stomped because about 12 days ago I received a e-mail from them which said that the plate would be ready in the next 8 days and now (12 days later) they come with this B/S, well maybe somebody told them that a guy from P.R. (me) was goin to perform a before and after mph test from the same spot with this new plate and because this they are giving some "additional" touches to the plate to try to back up their (3 mph increase claim) and give them back some credibility (something that this company need "desesperately") after their Gpr exhaust manifold mod FIASCO in the past Wink any way it doesn't matter how much efforts they put to this plate, this is NOT gonna happen.

Thanks for the info mtrager, yeah this is what I thought a 1.5 mph increase over the stock oem plate but NOT a 3 mph increase like they claim in their web site.

We got 1 mph gain on average on 4 STX-Rs with the R&D plates, but these were tweaked by me before bolting on. Before that we tested about 10 different R&D ride plates and nearly every plate made the boat handle differently due to some casting flaws that we needed to smooth out and change the plate angle some. Some boats rode too high out of the water and porposed a little. While some other plates made the nose stick too far in the water, causing too much drag (and a loss of top speed). After tweaking 4-5 plates, we gained 1 mph on average and got rid of the other problems I just mentioned. The plate design is good, but the manufacturing quality from plate to plate is a little something less than desired...

I am about to test one of our modded plates on the 15F as soon as it warms up a bit...

James, now i understand why you always say in your messages that it is very important to mod all this aftermarkets R&D ride plates, it seems to me that this company quality control proces SUCKS!!!

p.s. just wondering if you get in touch with them to know about the difference between the new 15F plate and the early STX-R one, thanks, Ray

I question sometimes if my shuttle is actually moving in and out like it is supposed to.

Take the spring out and run with out it, the low end and midrange should get worse, and the top end should stay the same. Basically, if you undo the bolt and can pull the shuttle out easily, then its moving. You might want to try the next longer shuttle with the spacer installed.

Most mass produced aftermarket parts can be improved by some tweaking here and there.

That is standard procedure with what I do.

I have been known for being able to look at a part and be able to improve the design or improve the quality. I will buy an aftermarket part, set it down on my desk, give it a good looking over and find ways of improving the product. I even do this with many of the OEM parts. Once you put all that tweaking knowledge and R&D into one single boat, the end result is quite remarkable and very noticeable Smile

This is one reason we have been so sucessful out on the racecourse and why it is hard to believe that we are competitive with what we run Wink
