alrighty..heres my question of the day..Thinking about a new ski for the new year, here are the possibilities. Pick up a used 02, 03 140 add the RPM kit, then next year slap on a supercharger (is it adaptable to the standard fx140?) Or, bite the bullet and pick up a 1300...now, for the difference in price between the RRE or standard 1300r that is a no brainer..I think its like 1100$ more, and you could easily dump in more than a grand in time/effort and parts to get 70+ like riva claims....I kind of like the idea of the used Fx140....becuase think about it, most people who are selling them only have less than 100 hours on them and for a 4 stroke engine that is a blink of an eye...add the RPM kit + SC (about4-5 grand) and you still come out ahead of the game in teh end...any opinions?

It's not an adaptation. We're producing one kit for each model. If you already have the RPM Kit you will need to change your impeller after installing the Supercharger. The Set-Back we recommend for our FX-140 RPM Kit won't have a steep enough pitch.

As for which model, speed and handling are obtainable with any craft. Take into consideration the type of riding and number of passengers when you ride your GP1200.

RC, so the supercharger will be availibe for the 02, 03 140? I dont have one yet..just weighing out options...Most of my riding is either cruising on the intracoastal to wavejumping while my GF sunbathes on the beach....I know the 140 is probably not the best choice for wavejumping, but for now one ski is it for me....what pitch will have to go on it out of curiosity?

Yes!

Not sure what pitch we're going to recommend for the FX-140. We've only water tested the FX-HO.

57-58mph & 10,280rpm. Click here for more info about our FX-140 RPM Kit.

The prop isn't repitched. Our RPM Kit calls for our Set-Back 12/19.(Click here for more impeller info.)

As sated above, we haven't water tested a Supercharged FX-140 yet so I can't recommend an impeller at this time. However we have Dyno tested the motor package. We were able to produce 189.5hp @ 10,000rpm. Click here for more info!

I'm not sure I understand the question. How close will "what" get you to 70? If you're referring to a Supercharged FX-140 I don't know that it will do 70. The older FX hulls are heavier (approx. 50lbs) and the FX-140 motor is lower in HP than the HO (140 vs. 160).

FYI - TJ is 'the' Tim Judge, I'm just a wannabe! Wink

sorry if i wrote that confusingly...My questions is ( and I know you havent tested so you cant say for sure..), but with an 02 140 + SC + RPM (with the correctly pitched prop) do you have any GUESS as to what the top end MIGHT be?

Call me old school if ya want, but all things considered,Price-Wieght-Simplicity,and speed give me a used Gpr.I dont say that because I ride one,but for ease of making one faster,IMHO. Roll Eyes Big Grin On a new machine I'd go with the 1300R Eek Big Grin

that tech tv thing was a joke...i think im with ya on the 1300, although a 4 stroke would be nice....maybe a couple of years down the road when you can pick up and fx for 4 grand it'd be worth it..but i think its time for a 1200r/1300r
