Help!! I have a 02 gp1200r that I ran the wrong oil in at the end of last year then found out could damage cat. Drained oil and put yamaha w2 in and was getting ready to flush turned my back and my helpfull 2 year old turned on water about 15-20 sec before I could get to ski and start. Took out on water and ran good for about 1 min and then started to bog then exhaust cat warning came on. Turned over with no plugs to make sure dry still starts just bogs no power after 30 sec to 1 min. fogged cylnders and turned over multi times, checked compression in all 3 cylynders and all the same. Took cat out waiting for D plate and chip in mail. Cat looks like it is starting too fall apart with some small peices of it missing but then again this is the first tim I have looked at one. DOes anyone know if you get water in engine if exhaust warning would start sounding or is it just the cat and I lucked out or is the motor fried? Thanks, Jared

sounds like it's just the cat to me.people turn the water on too early all the time most of the time it doesn't hurt anything, but you said that it looked like the cat was falling apart, when they do the pieces usually go into the water box so if you hear anything banging around thats probly it.as for the exhaust gas overtemp warning it was probly just that your cat is clogged and overheating. ever since i did the d-plate in mine i get the same warning when crusing in hot water like in the back bays.but it's worth the power and MGP. gains....lol

MY STATS:
06'YAMAHA GP1300R
RIVA INTAKE GRATE
RIVA RIDE PLATE(shimed!)
RIVA TRIM TABS
RIVA D-PLATE
RIVA PUMP SEAL KIT
STEPPED SPONSONS
i get approx. 78 mph on the speedo! in the back bays....8-)
