I am working on a my 2001 GP1200R ski that was rebuilt once before by someone else and have a question regarding gaskets between the carb rack plate and the reed valve plate.

I had the carbs done at island and they are on the rack and in sync so I know the carb gaskets are in. I purchased a new intake gasket for between the carb rack plate and the reed plate but is that really all the gaskets there are here? My manual and the riva parts finder only show the one but the atlantic site showed something different. There was only one when I took them off but since it was worked on before by someone else I was concerned it could have been done wrong.

So the questions is is that the only gasket between the rack and the reed plate?

Are there no gaskets on between the reed plate, reeds and case?

This is part of what confused me, they show two gaskets and say in the part list at the bottom two are required.

Gaskets are not used between the reed cages and reed cage plate. The reed cages have rubber compression seals built into them. If the rubber seals seem rigid or compressed you can apply 3-Bond 1211 to them before installing the reed cage plate.

The diagram you posted a link to is for an `02 GP1200R. In `02 Yamaha updated the intake to include an insulator spacer to remedy the hot start problem GP1200R's were experiencing. As a result you are required to install a gasket on each side of the insulator plate. `01 diagrams only show one gasket between the carb mounting plate and the reed cage plate.
