I thought you had to send in the powervalves (and anything else they might need) so they can build the gas powervalves. I do not want to buy new valves, and the dealer told me to take them out send them to Riva and they will build them for me. I was just wondering what exaclty do I have to send it.

You send nothing to Riva. Just request a gas valve kit for your boat and they will send you everything you need. Some of the kit is Seadoo and some is Riva, but no part of the stock electric power valves will be reused.

Very easy. The exhaust manifold needs to be removed so you can insert the number 1 cylinder valve from what I remember. but fairly easy. (handtools). You will like it.
*No more worries about powervalves clips failing or servo motor failures.
the adjustable valve caps allow you to tune your powerband to your modifications or vice versa.

Not exactly totally easy, unless removing the exhaust system, head and all three cylinders qualifies as easy. I got a kit from Carl at Island Racing that eliminated having to thread the holes in the cylinders and put plugs in, but it was still a bit of fun to install. Mind you I find removing the carbs on a single piped GPR to be a pain in the ass too! Not cheap either-like over 600 bucks.

Removing carbs on a single pipe is not convenient, but they can be takene off and put back on in 1-2 hours. I had mine doen to replace new lines and put it back on in that sam time frame. You only have to take the rear section of pipe off to get to it. All else is easy with ratchet.

Fercho and Razzbo do it at the ramp when they do testing.

As for removing the head and all three cylinders, I did not have to that to out in my gas valves. I put mine on with only the exhaust manifold/front section moved back out of the way.

If the motor is already out, then yes, I agree, that is much easier to do.

seems to me it would be a learning experience if you had to take off the front exhaust. some of us has done it twice or more. I say, learn how to do it and you can help the next person you meet if they have the same problem. It is not hard at all, but just takes alittle time.

How were you able to tap the cylinders and put the plugs in without removing them? They looked to close together to be able to tap the holes without pulling the cylinders off. No doubt Fercho pulls the carbs off at the launch, I have watched Carl (Island) pull carbs and he too is quick. You get better and better at it with practise. Fortunately (or unfortunately) I don't want to get that good at removing carbs and so far I have not needed to.

I did not tap mine. I used Belzona. Like JB weld but stronger.
I seen some where people used RTV.

I tried my best to remove all the carbo/gunk build up. Not sure if I was able to get it all, but the valve still wont come out. It appears that the brass coupling is wedged down in there. I guess I will have to bring it down to the dealer some time this winter. Because I am all out of ideas.

Did you try soaking it in PB?

Last resort is heat - but with gas fumes not recommended unless you pull the cylinders.

I'd bet your dealer (unless it's Riva) will be clueless also.

Havent tryied PB, what is PB? My dealer are the ones who install all my aftermarket parts. I am very good friends with all of them (one is my age) and they have all been through Yamaha school, and are all very experienced.
