Took the 1200 xl and 800 xl to the lake. Taking it easy since working on both boats. The 800 is hard to start compared to the 1200. They both run fine. The 1200 takes off between 4500 and 5000 rpm on the gauge. Is this normal? Your doing 4500 rpm and then it jumps up to 7000ish with no in between rpm. Keep in mind I pulled the motor and replaced a cylinder. Also installed the D plate on a stock motor. Oh, and went to pre mix. Rookie PWC owner / repair.

Okay I think it was just the power valves or a poor premix. We went back out in some rough water and the thing ran great. Maybe the oil mix was better since the boat got beat around most of the day.
