I was jumping the biggest waves I have ever been on in the Med on Sat and the seat came loose on my GP1300 which caused the plugs to get wet.I have now learnt that if the ski goes deep tail first then grip the seat with your legs.Is there anything I could do to the clip to stop this happening?I think it was just the way I landed as the ski was vertical leaning backwards but there was no way I was letting go.

I was thinking about this seat poping off problem and was going to look at making something that went throught the seat clip like a bolt of some desription that you could screw in so you had to take the bolt out before you couldn get the seat off

The GPR seat seems to be the a achilles heel of a near otherwise perfect design. Another problem of this seat( I hope the yamaha big wheels are reading this) is that when a larger person, like myself gets into a set of waves big or small I have to get my butt of the seat or I WILL SNAP IT INTO. went thru 3 seats last summer. Asfar as the seat popping off I have only experence this a few times. I think that what is causing this is; 1. The shear impact of the boat hitting water with a great amount of force (no brainer). 2. The hull/seat maybe tweaking slightly during impact. Theese two condtions happening at the same time could and will cause this to happen. Which is the one thing that no one wants in the surf.
