this is gonna be kind of long and hope someone can help me.
i have 2001 gp1200 with stage 2 kit. she runs 72-74 mph. heres the prob. i jumped started my ski with my truck 2 months ago. really stupid of me. it started and i let it run for a few minutes dry. another bonehead move. it turned off and i tried to start it again but i get temp sensor warning. the water sensor on the display comes on and the warning audible goes off. it does not turn over. i've replaced the water sensor and also bought new sensor chip b/c i have d plate in. it still does same warning and does nothing else. i took it to yamaha dealer and they told me my gauges display was bad. is this possible? i just dont want to spend 500 on a new one and that not be the prob. i wish there was a riva dealer near by so i could have them look at it. i just dont think the factory mechanics know enough about the upgrades that i have in the ski. please help!! open to all and any suggestions. thanks. |

Bypass the gauges and see what happens. Also, can you turn the motor by hand or is it stuck.

Well, keep in mind I am a tractor mech. But I bypassed the gauges on my wifes 2000 800xl. On the 800 just unplug the power going into the gauge, red plug. And the off white plug next to the red going into the gauges. Then plug the red male into the off white female. Leave the plugs hanging out of the gauge. Your boat may not be the same. To turm the motor by hand just turn the shaft coming out of the back of the engine. If you can get your hand in there.

Also, on the 800 the plugs are the only ones that will swap. I think.
