Work at it one item at a time...

First change the plate and test...
then the tabs... ETC...

Each boat, rider, water condition will effect the ride..

Did you try stepping your stock sponsons with the stock plate?

NeverMindD is right. Make only one change at a time. That way you know what is working best for your riding style and boat characteristics. What may work for one person may not exactly work for another.

How about a set of these in the back ?(just kidding) Big Grin

Ade,
Best combo for rough water for me is:
Stock sponsons stepped, Pro-tec plate, Riva trim tabs, and Pro-Tec 20mm steering nozzle.
Riva plate is about 1.5 mph quicker on glass, but not in the rough Wink
R&D push their Hydro force steering nozzle.Itt's a load of c***. It will not give you an extre 1mph, and if anybody has one, cut 30mm off the end of it NOW.
Let us know what you usually ride on (Ocean or Lake). The above suggestion is for ocean riding.

the other thing you could try is an XL 1200 pump nozzle (which has a 3 degree rise instead of a GPRs 5 degree)

if you use an XL nozzle I have always felt the best plate to go with it is the stock plate ( and to complete this you could add your extended trim tabs and the riva sponsons or stepped OEM sponsons)

Philip,
My experience with the XL nozzle is that it helps big time in the rough for hook up because it keeps the nose down.
If it,s calm enough for a good run, and to expreience porpoising, and not comming un- hooked, I have found the 0 egree nozzle drags top end down too much.If your talking about getting un-hooked, well thats a different story, the XL nozzle is the way to go.
Ade, a good compromise to buying a Pro-tec plate, seeing you already have a Riva one, is to get the oem plate milled. Take about a quarter of an inch of the rear mounts tapering to nothing on the front, and that will give you a bit more speed than the oem, and you can always shim it back if it does not suit your riding style.
