I have a 2001 1200 and I cant get the bolt out that holds the ride plate to the body, its the one located in the back next to the drain plug, it seems like its turning inside and not coming out, what is the trick to getting these out?

the insert (a funny shaped nut) is normally epoxied to the hull, in your case the epoxy has broken loose

you need to renove the rear exhaust pieces and foam pieces, then you can get a set a vice grips on the insert

the insert will need to be replaced - I would suggest using a set of R&D replacement inserts, they are more like brackets, instead of reusing the OEM insert

dude your in for a job...i did this on my ski but i broke the bolt head off. you have to take the battery box and that back wall out carefully without damaging that rubber exhaust boot.(i had to seperate the exhaust to access the rear compartment , but you might not have to, but you'll need to chip away the epoxy exposing the insert and grab it with vise grips while someone turns the bolt. after that you'll need those riva ride plate inserts. you simply glue them down seal them up real good. and put everything back together... sounds easy but it kicked my a$$....lol...
hope this helps..
