I learned the hard way that PV servo motors are NOT watertight. After burning up my second this year, I took it apart to find lots of corrosion on the circuit board. Water is getting in from where the wiring harness enters the lower part of the housing. So, I put a bead of silicone around the whole perimeter where the two halves of the housing meet, and put a large glob of it where the wires enter/exit the housing. Hope this helps...
Also, something else I discovered. Lots of you may already know this, but... I was having problems with my new servo motor wanting to keep my PV's in the open position all the time. When I ran it on the hose and turned it off, they would default to the open position, and the motor would "chirp". I adjusted them per the manual, and it turns out one cable had too much tension. Apparently if the motor cannot reach full throw in one direction or the other due to too much tension, the motor pulls the valves open and keeps them there. This message has been edited. Instead of becoming the PV Servo Motor expert - what not just go Gas? All this will be just a distant memory!
