That's about right. The XL760 wasn't designed to be a high performance watercraft. As a result the aftermarket companies did not persue aftermarket product development for it specifically. There are a few cross-over parts for other craft that will fit the XL760.

Here are some recommendations to improve performance.

Top-Loader Intake Grate Reduces cavitation and improves hook up in rough conditions.

Solas YD-CD-11/14 Concord Impeller Reduces cavitation and improves acceleration and top speed.

Yamahabond Quick Gasket Sealant Use this to seal the intake grate to the pump inlet and pump sections to each other to prevent cavitation.

just went on solas website and read up on the concord and the x prop and they both say that they are great for acceleration and top speed. which one in ur guys opinion which is best for a stock xl760 and why?? appreciate it. i know i ask alot but im just trying to get up to speed on wave runners. its my engineering mind set.

for a stock key word stock xl760 which comes with a 11/14 prop from the factory i would suggest the concord 11/14 as riva said-it is a better design than stock prop and will net you some gains-the x prop is a 13/16 which is too tall for stock ski application and will make the motor lug thus non optimal performance- if you ever modify your motor i.e. higher compression head(which will mandate higher octane fuel like 93 unlead$$$) flame arresters, carb mods etc. then a taller/higher # prop will be in order to maximize the powerband for best results
