I've got a 04 FX-140HO with all the Riva stuff on it. It runs great and is a real sleeper, but I could always use more speed. Summer is winding down and I need a good winter project to keep me busy. I am seriously thinking of Riva's supercharger kit for it. Has anyone bought Riva's supercharger kit? It's a bunch of money, but if it delivers big reliable power and speed I might go for it. I'm looking for "real world" impressions of the kit, pros and cons, speed numbers or any other helpful information.

Thanks,

Bill.

that motor is capable of a lot more HP than Riva is getting - you might consider waiting to see if something else comes out - I heard the snowmobile guys are getting upwards of 400HP

Do a google search for mc express..click turbo and check out the 358hp dyno pull. I've got some friends out in the mountains that run just over 300hp on pump gas. This engine loves boost...

vortech is the maker of the blower. I can tell you from first hand experience that installing a blower on a motor is NOT!! a bolt on proposition. Yes you can put the kit on and make some power but it will not be anywhere close to it's full potential. You have to re-mapp fuel curves and timing along with having a on-board air-fuel ratio meter to keep an eye on things. I have built several supercharged motors and they DO NOT run that good until they have hit the dyno and been tuned properly. This is fact not opinion. Most over the counter kits come set up REALLY rich so the customer can play but the results are not impressive.
