Ok,

I got walked on by a RXP - Riva Stage I (2 boat lengths at 1/2 mile). I am currently tuning in my recently rebuilt GP1200R Stage II. I am going to a 13/20 or 14/20 prop and that will help, but I really only lost ground when I came out of the water and my PV's shut down. Once I hit water and the PV kicked in (seconds later) I hung in there and even gained a bit. (and I had 100 lbs on the guy)

So, here is the question... Should I go with gas valves, or will a CDI keep the valves open longer (and open them sooner)? I want to be able to hit the water and fly. Will a Protec modded CDI do the trick?

And to let you guys all know... the RXP is not that great of a boat in rough water. We were in 1-3 foot chop and I usually only get in the 62-64 mph range in those conditions.

I personally love my gas valves. Go gas and don't go back. IMHO

How's the water there?

I've been just headin over to cedartucky... crappy water, but still warm and glasslike.

Raced a Ultra150 yesterday... no competition.

Speaking of Gas valves I just ordered mine Big Grin. Even though it set me back a pretty penny, its worth every cent I feel.

ralicea - Gas Valves work on pressure. Electric are opened by the CDI based on RPM.

I went CDI - easier to dial them in

Don't go Protec unless you find a modified CDI and Protec PV controller used (cheap)

You could also raise your top speed in rough water by
adding some flat R&D trim tabs
get a Nujet 6.5
and if your holeshot isn't important add an 800 grate

Red...

I'm still riding in Lake MI.. Actually, I just got my boat back... I bent a couple of rods and scored up a jug... It took a month to get the crank, parts and labor done... I broke it in this weekend...

The water is getting COLD!!! I am in a full wettie now... Its been fun riding.. We've had 3-5 footers lately..

I might get some riding in this weekend... I am looking for an inland lake to drag out the season...

Take care..
