OH NO! not the Flux Capasiter!!! Stick 3 banana's in it and some 91 in the tank and see a 3-4mph gain...
A good tach and GPS would be your next purchase. 01' Triple BB 03 MX Raptor 06'GR1300R 05' Raptor 350 01' Banshee WEST COAST WATERCRAFT |

No i havent Gps it yet I have a garvin thats for my boat and it was like a thousand bucks I cant bring myself to bring out on the ski with me. And i dont have a pet or mini tach yet. Im going all by the stock tach. Sometimes it seems the stock tach doesnt even hit 7000 I havent touched my pv's yet so maybe theres something wrong there. my ski only has 25 hours on it so everything still pretty solid. I feel the single top loader really slows me down up top, the intake angle is to steep and to far back compared to a 8000 grate.

Jersey,i can feel the difference when i change from a double bar top loader to the 800 grate. With your single bar compared to your 800 grate, you can count on 1+ mph difference. The single bar really drops into the water.
Are you getting 150 psi? Also, try taking off the 87mm nozzle and putting the stock one back on if you still have it. 01' Triple BB 03 MX Raptor 06'GR1300R 05' Raptor 350 01' Banshee WEST COAST WATERCRAFT |

with the 87 MM nozzle you should put a 14-21 prop. I also did not see the power core exhaust in there.
But a stage 2 1300 (with a power core exhaust) will only have about 1, maybe 2 MPH on a RXP. Or at least thats all one of my buddys had. yea no power core I went with the d-plate. And woody I had the stock nozzle on and carl told me I would be putting to much load on the motor with it and I also wanted to get my rpms up, so here i am. Im running klotzs ski craft and only putting in high-test. I think Im going to get rid of the power filter for a race filter because everytime I look my filter cover looks wet so I might be starving for air. should I do the jetworks mod or not. And my efi is set at 5816 that seems to work the best.

The Race Filter is totaly the way to go.It allows more air into the motor. You really need a tach for this, more air the more fuel you need.I would get the tach before i got anything.

mike
i have the race filter on my 1300 its much better the the power filter for flow. the jetworks is good if you want a better hole shot its not going to do anything to your topend YOU NEED A GPS AND A TECH TO KNOW WHATS GOING ON INSIDE THAT SKI or keep asking yourself question ( i know i did that FERCHO WHY THIS FERCHO WHY THAT and still do ) 1. GPS 2. TECH (pet tech) i still think a 12/20 prop is to much for that ski 03 fx cruser: R&D Power Filter Flame Arrestor R&D Velocity Stack Kit 03 gp1300r: Kerry's & Fernando's Package VERY "SPECIAL SAUCES" Just got Faster! and more to come! http://www.greenhulk.net/yamaha/index.php |

A GPS is a MUST!
I guy I met on the river had a 2004 RXP, stock and let him use my GPS, he ran 67mph on flat water. Depending on position, amount of fuel....water conditions...my speed varies between 70 and 72. My EFI setings are GREEN:6, YELLOW:6, RED:1, RPM:7. Anything else and I loose top end and hole shot. 2004 GP1300R Racing Edition 01 of 50 True and Welded Crankshaft Performance Cylinder Heads Performance Porting |

When I got my thirteen hundred I went ahead and got all the bolt on mods that you see below including a top load grate. I am slowly bringing my ski back to stock, and the weird part about this is that it seems to run better/faster ever time I take somthing off. Will the ski do 70,75,80....no of course not but it's fast enough to do what I want it to do. The only mod still on ski is the 13/20 SB, and PPK. And it seems to be a winning combo. I will say this though, the top load grate will out perform the stock grate in serious chop. But besides that the trade off is not worth it for me to leave it on all the time.

Air,im curious as to what rpm you are seeing.

With the mods you have listed, you should totally be outrunning that RXP. One question is how much fuel did you have when you raced it? My buddy's RXP and my GPR run pretty close when we both have a full tank. I just barely walk on him. But, when both skis have 1/4 tank, I have nearly 3 MPH on him. His ski is not impacted much by fuel load. The best I've GPS'd his RXP is 68.3 MPH @ 700'ASL.

I had about 1/3 on the meter for fuel. As for everything else im stumped. I consider myself a gear-head I go over things in my mind over and over again so I know theres nothing on my end that i did wrong. When i first put on the ride plate and intake grate along with free flow and power filter Efi and d-plate i felt the ski lost some top end and it did. The heads and the prop is where i got all my improvements. Im just frustrated about my results maybe someone close to me could take a-look, thanks for the advice.

I can't speak about the powerfilter, but that ride plate should have netted 1-1/2 MPH. Is it an Island Racing plate? Did you add washers under the front of the plate to match it up to the sides of the pump shoe?
|
||||
|
yea I had to add washers to the front, without it the plate was like 3/4'' lower then the pump shoe. But the plate nots draging at all I straight edged everything, I even have a nice angle mod done. The ski just feels like its not topping out, like with a little more push it would gain 500 more rpms. How often you clean air filter? every time I look at it, it seems wet ( the outer filter) maybe thats restricting it a little bit.

My ride plate is the same, about 1 inch below the pump shoe, shoe I add washers until the ride plate is even?

Even the smallest things must be checked. Last weekend I was out riding and cruised thru some junk (sticks, twigs) in the water, but thought nothing of it till I tried |
