Checked GPS in two different vehicles, (today) 11:30 AM and yes- it is definetly reading 9-10MPH slower than the speed you are actually going. Garmin Etrex (Yellow)

Was it cloudy, hot and humid, cold, moved quite some distance (100+ miles) since last time you fired it up, gotten it wet (I know they say waterproof but don't count on it), been banged around in your glove box?

Any of these things could have a drastic affect on the unit. They build them into a sturdy case but one thing slightly out of whack in that case and that thing will tell you you're riding in Zimbabwe...

That and the fact that it's a $99 GPS. Go buy a new one, and spend a little more money for a quality one.

My Garmin Etrex works just fine. Doesn't have some of the map features of the legend or vista, but works fine. Still tracks the same satellites and gives the same information. Same processor in calculating data from the same satellites the others use. Rode with mine today in my truck and is reading exactly what my speedo in my truck says.
I would send it in if it is still under warranty.

just my .02 Wink

Have the sheep learned to jet carbs,or is it too much for thier little mits?I know you've scared them into being afraid of hieghts, and cowboy boots,if you can teach one how to work on a GPR i just might have to come Big Grin
