For some reason this year ive been attacked bye the little things.Found and fixed one water leak and ran it today, water is still coming in.Pulled the battery tray out and backed the boat in the water.Well...well...well...water is coming in from pump shoe inserts.Put a wrench on 1 of the bolts and it spun.

Im trying to narrow it down to just the hull inserts as far as leaks go.

QUESTION: Did your hull take on water fast, just sitting like mine did?
I pumped the water out and let the boat sit for about 7-10 minutes.Went back out and switched the pump on and alot more water came out.

Those things are a pain in the @ss. If the insert has spun and is leaking you will take on lots of water. I had one spin on me but... I removed the shoe cleaned the area with acetone removed the spun insert applied 5200 on the bottom of it sealed the pump ferchos way hand tightened the pump shoe bolts raised a floor jack under the shoe and lifted the rear of the ski just a tad off the bunks. I then used vise grips to grab the spun insert and tightened the pump shoe down. I have had no leaks and no problems with the pump shoe at all. Most here will tell you to get the r&d or riva inserts and fix it right. Running tripples at the speeds you are running I would probably tell you the samething matter of fact thats the first thing im going to fix this winter. Good luck woody

Joe,what is "lots of water"? I saw about 1/2-3/4" water in the hull in like 10 minutes. That was sitting.I have lots of Marine-Tex to solve the issue, just wanted some input as far as water volume in the hull in a given amount of time, like 10 minutes. There is another one spinning i found when i got home.

That amount of water seems right to me. I "wood" seriously consider fixing that shoe right woody. Last thing you want is a pump shoe ripping out at 77 mph. Like I said before thats the first thing im going to attack this winter. Just be careful man you dont want to leave the lovely wife a widow so soooon.........

I "wood" pull the entire shoe and fix it right. If the insert is spinning there is a good chance that it might pull through the hull and if that happens at the speeds your running your gonna know what it feels like to have the first emergency brake on a jetski. You have 2 inserts spinning that means that only the 2 other inserts and some 5200 are holding that baby in the hull. This is no place to get lazy woody Razz Wink

Get some 1/2" by 1 1/2" aluminum bar stock and make your own inserts. Pop off the inserts and grind the fiberglass flush. Seal it with 5200 and you are good to go. Forget about it pulling out again
