Dude, that wouldn't of happened. I would of at least waited for your body to come to shore to search for your car keys! Big Grin

gcane-

Yep, that was us. The one on the beach with the yellow rope tied to the front was my ski. Two local guys were kind enough to help us get it on the trailer, which was an adventure all by itself.

The ski is running now, but the power valve servo motor has quit - probably due to being submerged for over 1/2 hour. If anyone has one to sell, please contact me at djbooth@yahoo.com

Running the ski on the hose is great to flush it out. but if yer concerned about the sediment/sand and saltwater in the case i wouldn't run it again until you open the case. make sure that ther is no sand or sediment. sand loves to be lubricated. oh yeah buy a case of wd40 while yer opening the case up.

i had a 95 xp that i used for surf cant count how many times i bailed and popped up to find my ski rolling to shore. i get my can of wd40 out of the storeage bin along with dry plugs. pull the wet ones out spray wd down the holes crank it over spray again cramkit over to blow out any remaining water put dry plug in and it would start right up. i think i put about 1500 hrs on it before i seized. sold with about 2000 hrs on the stock crank and it still ran like a champ

fullboogie's a lucky guy. Today his ski ran fine. Looks like he's coming out of this with just a great story to tell. Now if someone will just make him a smokin deal on PV motor...

although not quite as big the waves off of Oregon Inlet in the Outer Banks of North Carolina ate my gp1300 a few weeks ago...jumped about a 8 footer and stood the old girl on end...landed the water was shallower than i thought (due to wave washing through) hit tail first on the SAND...cracked the hull broke the steering nozzle and trim ring off seat blew off and ski sank...everything is fixed but the crack now...luckily it was just the lip that the rub rail is on so its just cosmetic....same trip found me and 3 buddies hard aground 2 miles OFF SHORE on the sound side of the OBX had to pull the skis about a mile to waist deep water...buddies Xp ate its computer before it ever left the ramp smoked it literally melted the trim motor and cpu up front....heck of a trip....glad you all came out ok tho..those waves were huge
