Welcome to our forums! Stand Wave

Upgrading the pump components is a must due to what you've described! Here are a few noticeable upgrades listed in the order they can be installed.

  • Top-Loader Intake Grate: Reduces cavitation, improves hook up and helps with handling.

  • Pump Seal Kit (RY2520): Dramatically reduces cavitation by filling the voids in the OEM pump shoe.

  • Solas Concord Impeller: Improves performance all around through its superior design. Pitch will be determined by the type of riding you do. A YF-CD-11/14 is recommended for all around riding.

No problem. Pitch makes a big difference. If the pitch is too high then it will lug the motor down making it work to hard which can damage it. Plus acceleration will be terrible. If the pitch is too low then the engine will rev too high which can also hurt the engine, but will more noticeably hurt performance because you will activate the rev limiter repeatedly and the prop will cavitate upon accelerating.

Solas and Skat-Trak go to great lengths to test all of their prop offerings. They send tons of props to us to test and even fly to RIVA to work with us directly when developing new props and our Signature 'R' series props. All to ensure there is an impeller for every application.
