ive fitted the oem ride plate back on but one of the rear inserts was spinning. ive managed to glue it back in via the rear drain hole.. my question is

will it be strong enough to stop it pulling through the hull? or does the insert fit in the hull or on top? in other words how thick is the hull under the inserts?
cheers for any help

Ade

I had the right rear insert spin on the ride plate and i used Marine-Tex to seal it.There is no down force trying to pull it out of the hull, unlike the pump shoe inserts.

The ride plate insert is about 2.5" wide. They get pulled tight against the inside of the hull but I doubt they could get pulled through. Even with the re-glue (I did this to no avail) you may want to consider inserts. Especally before you get leaks.

Or, fix it permanently. Fernando cut up some 1/2" aluminum bar stock, drilled and tapped holes, and we glued them in place of the stock ones. Very cool, but it requires some work. You should smell the factory glue after 5 minutes of the heat gun on it!
