Well I have a 2002 xlt 1200 that well wont stay running and will not go over 4500 rpm in the water... my power valves are intacked, cylinders hold pressure, and I installed the D plate, to see if that was the issue. I am out of options and thoughts due to time constrants can anyone help point me in the right direction to solve this problem...Thank you

You stated the powervalves are intact. When do they open? Have you tested the servo motor? It sounds like they're not opening which would basically choke the motor preventing it from getting to full power.

the servo motor is still works they open when i turn it on and off it still functions. As for when they open well ill have to check on that when its running... What gets me is even though its a 2 stroke the motor has a bad clunk sound to it when its running like a vavle is bad or something ?? It will start and run fine on the hose but when in the water it does not like to idle it will jerk forward, have no power whats so ever, then after a couple minutes just stall out.

A bad clunk noise?!?! Eek That's an important omission from your first post! No engine should have a "bad clunking noise". That could be any number of things. Crankshaft, crank rod, flywheel, etc. It could even be a bad powervalve.

I strongly urge you not run the engine again and begin taking it apart to find the "bad clunking" sound.
