OK I have seen all brands for 2005. Since seadoo wants me to pay a small fortune of one of the 4 or 5 GTX types, I think I may go with the VX(I am not a rich man(military)). I have owned only sea doo in the past(2000 GTI, 2002 GTX DI). No real problems. Since you guys know of or have seen the VX what are the pro's and cons(besides speed)? Which one looks better in person, blue or red? I think this ski will dominate in sales this year(GTI $6299.00 or 4 stroke VX $6999.00....DUH!). Give me all your knowledge of this ski please. I can't wait to see it. Thanks

With the de-tuned HO motor, this ski should be bulletproof in stock form. You will find Yamaha's to be much more reliable than Sea-doo from my experience anyway.

First of all, thank you for serving our country.

First impressions were very positive. The craft is responsive; handles well; predictable in turns and through chop; the engine platform is reliable and has great potential; it's very stable while riding, sitting idle and boarding from in the water. After riding it for more than an hour I felt confident that the VX will exceed Yamaha's expectations of being primarily a rental craft with a deluxe version for consumer sales.

Compared directly with the currently available GTI I would have to advise on purchasing the VX. Better fuel economy, better for the enviroment, probable modification availability, lots of storage space, reverse (deluxe model)....all pluses in my book!
