1997 GP1200

Hit code, then LCD displays start. Then nothing.

hit code again and it says lock. Hit code again, it says start. Push the button: nothing.

I'm using a jetlogic generic yamaha lanyard, and a fresh battery. If I bridge the solenoid it turns over great.

Does anyone know why this is happening?

Your LCD security is probably fried. By pass it. Call me at home 281-265-8326. I will be up for a while
