I had mine "professionally tuned". You know how that goes! I do smell gas at low speeds. Do you get that as well? I think I am going to the Nujet 6.5 and send it to Carl at Island Racing for propper pitching. I may mess with the water box and gas head some as well. My goal is to reach 70. Maybe in the next couple of months when it drops down to the 70's I may get more speed then as well. The riding season is far from over!!! Keep Rippin

RXPeater - I put in at Seminole Park. They have a nice ramp, but you have to pay 5 bucks. No biggie. It is on Park Blvd., between Starkey and Seminole Blvd. The lake is big enough to do good speed runs. One part may have light chop and the other end will be smooth. There are two water ski slalom courses at the far end of the lake. Very fun!!! Hopefully I can go out there this weekend. Maybe we can meet out there. I doubt you can handle my RXP!! Just kidding. Big Grin I have a 13R that has some pump mods. I'm debating on triples.

RXPeater - I recently picked up a 03 with similar setup with the addition of the rideplate being angled & deskegged . I was told with a stock Nujet,it ran a 70.2 this summer. I picked it up with a stock 14/20 and could only get a Etrex Legend best of 68.1, with bucket out and on fumes. RPM's hover around 7000+/-50.
Sunday I swapped out to a I-cut 14/20 depitched to 11/18, purchased a long time ago for my 1200. Monday, a quick run, once again with bucket out and minus 2 bars of gas, the ski pulled a 69+/-.3 with a peak of 69.6. RPM's did not change.
I am at sea level, afternoon temp was about 70deg. (I looked at the EFI, but didn't have my reading glasses. Couldn't make out the #'s)
I would say a couple changes should put you well within reach of your goals.

GW- Great info, thanks. If you get a chance and can find your reading glasses (just kidding! Big Grin could you tell me what your EFI settings are. I think I may be running rich. Also, how does someone know what to depitch the prop to?

Im not getting how you can depitch, run the same rpm,and increase 1 mph. There has to be some other variable overlooked.

From the first of this thread it sounded like he had more than the standard tach.I was also thinkin as the waters cooling he should have gained a few rpm even without de-pitching?

He's using 2 different props, there's no telling what the pitch of the stock 14/20 actually is. Plus Carls prop is probably much more true, etc., and runs more efficiently.

14/20, 14/20 depitched question. Sorry, I've missed most of this having taken a couple days off.

The original 14/20, looked original. The one I put on was supposedly done by Carl, which appears true, as it has that different finish as well.

RPM's? I didn't understand the lack of variation either, but there wasn't any significant change. Maybe it's the tach. (TinyTach).
