Hi All,

I need the high & low speed screw settings for a 2000 XL1200 LTD as well as the proper pre-mix ratio. The boat has the cat removal d-plate, free flow exhaust kit, oil pump block-off plate, pump stuffer kit.

I actually have two of these boats and they both are acting the same. When cold they start right up and run good. Once hot, shut off, and let to sit for a few minutes they are a bear to get started. If not done properly they will flood and never start. You have to give it no gas, hit the starter and let idle for a moment, then use a combination of choke and feathering the gas. It takes 5 minutes of stalling, boging, coking, and feathering to get the snot worked out of them. Once completed they go back to running good.

They both started this same behavior after I put in the d-plates, free-flow exhaust kits, and rebuilt the carbs.

I've removed the carbs agian and checked that everything is clean and clear. I'm now going to remove the oil pumps and check the hi-lo srews. Any advise would be appreciated.

hopefully your high and low screws aren't seized. If your head and air box is both stock and your carbs are are perfect is would use 1.5 out on the highs and 7/8 out on lows plus or minus 1/8 turn depending on your ridding conditions. I'm guessing you have an accelerator pump and no fuel primer. I would recommond a fuel frimer for easy 1st start after sitting for long periods

make sure you have a couple sets of fresh plugs. Do some plug chop test (run the ski for a minute and kill the ski. No idling. pull the plugs. make sure they aren't too lean / whitish. you may want to get a set of t-handles from riva's parts dept. It will make adjusting easier. You'll still need the pipe & air box off, but atleast the carbs can stay on the motor.
