The Beast has finaly come to life! I started out with literaly "A Boat in a Box" as PhillipGPR called it when he sold it to me. I recived a hull completly stripped down, and boxes of parts containing everything from the engine to speedo screws. With many phone calls, a few choice swear words, and lots of help from gofastguru, it's ready to rock (after just a couple of more parts get here this week). All I need is the time to get on it; good thing I have a 5 day weekend coming up! Here are before and after pics; the paintwork is from Marshall County Custom Paint in Guntersville, AL; I am now a true believer in House of Kolor paints! Can't wait for the sun to shine again so I can take better pics! I'll post more along with numbers soon.

Looks Good!!! I thought the XLT seat didn't fit that well on the XLL, but judging by your picture, it fits pretty good.

Good Luck!

The seats work just fine; I was wondering where he got those seats from, I guess it was you. Of course now I'm going to have to get some custom seat covers to go with the rest of the boat.

Well, it's good to know what kind of seats I have, if I'm going to get custom covers for it. Any suggestions on manufactures and colors, everyone?

Hey Smitty,
Are you using the stock handlebar setup or aftermarket? Also are you leaving the stock covering of the handlebars? If it is aftermarket which ones are you using and do you have any close shots of that set up? I just redid my whole ski as well and debating wether to go stock again or aftermarket. Mostlikely it will be back to the stock setup.

I've still got to install the proper throttle assembly, so I don't have the boot installed over the stock handlebars. However, I'm really thinking about putting on some aftermarket bars, I think it would look better. I looked at some, and there are dozens of choices on sizes and angles; not really sure what I need to order. If anyone has some good pics of aftermarket bars and how things are set up, I'd love to see them too.

Yeah I was debating the issue because I dont know if you use the bottom half of the boot with the bars or do you leave the entire thing off. If you leave both halves off then your really prone to get water in from the top of the bars. Also im 50/50 with the look of no boot entirely

that thing is absolutely STUNNING!

Great choice on the paint. I bet it looks even better in person.

Thanks Mark, I'll post pics in a few days when the sun is out. Plus, the photographer down the road from the paint shop wants to use it as a prop for his models when he does his bikini shoots; I sez sure, no proble, as long as I get copies! I'll be posting those too.

Zoom, I know just the guy to do it!

I actually found pics of a XLL with the hood painted silver with the black center, loved how that looked. I went to the see Mikey G at Marshal County Custom paint with the intention of just paiting the hood red with the black center; he got to talking, next thing I know it's brandywine and black, all expensive metalflake stuff, and we are bringing the paint down onto the body to follow the line and following the lines in the back too. I'm glad we did it that way; but it wouldn't be expensive at all to paint just the hood some nice gloss colors, I don't think. Here is the picture of my inspiration; I like it, but I think I like mine better.

I had forgotten where I had found that pic! Of all the ones I looked at while I was deciding on how I wanted to paint mine, yours was the one I kept coming back to. I didn't want to copy it, but loved the way you used the black in the center to look like a windscreen.

Now I just need some triples to match Big Grin
