We're proud to announce our RPM Kit for the new Yamaha FX-SHO.

The FX-SHO has a completely new engine and engine management system; which has many safeguards built into it. Our RPM Kit optimizes the SHO's performance within the limits of the stock engine management system providing improved acceleration and top speed as well as enhanced handling.

We are working on our Stage I Kit and anticipate a mid summer release date. The parts in our RPM Kit will carry over to Stage I with the addition of other RIVA Performance Modification parts.

No. If you do modify the prop or pump to increase rpm you will only hurt performance because the engine management system will kick in.

Our r&d department reported to us today that after breaking in their test unit the actual speeds were higher both stock and modified. Initial numbers were obtained with little time on the craft. After having it on the water for more than a week they decided to double check the numbers as this has happened in the past.

It seems with all of the stock boats topping out at 65mph that acceleration numbers are more important. Does Riva have any acceleration numbers on stock and modified PWCs?

Actually, top speed is everyone's main concern. When it comes to acceleration numbers we let the mags publish that info when they test our craft. Which, by the way, you can expect to read about soon as we have lots of tests scheduled soon! Big Grin

I have been riding for 4 years now and while I like a fast boat the places that you can run flatout for any length of time are limited on Lake Erie.

Riva
Can you tell me the details of how top speed and acceleration data is collected? Radar gun? GPS? Timed distance? And what sampling frequency do testers typically use. I am trying to understand the margin of error in these measurements particularly acceleration numbers.

We use a Stalker Pro radar gun that we hook up to our lap top to graph the speed run. We back up the top speed with a GPS the rider wears on his vest.

It's a little louder. I don't mind it.

Not sure what the boost is yet, but it doesn't really matter because anything you do to raise boost sets off the stock engine governors.
