I just relocated the b-pump from the back to the engine compartment, under the drive shaft. Does anyone know how to wire in a switch so i can turn the pump on an off when i want, but also have it so it will work automatically like it does know. Any info would be a great help.

First, why would you want to turn it off if it's an automatic pump?

Anyway, you can get a waterproof switch from Academy and wire it into either the + or - wire, and mount the switch in the engine compartment. Or, spend the mega bucks on a Riva marine switch to mount on your handlebars. But again, why would you want to turn off the automatic function?

I dont want to turn off the automatic function, with the switch off I still would want the pump to come on when it had to. The main reason I want to do this is because on my jet port its a pain and the ass to try and get the water out of the hull. Even when you turn it off it works but not for long enough. I like to wash down the engine compartment then drain it. so here i am

ok, I might have it, sounds like you want it to run on auto and also to be able to manually turn it on

to add the second manual function you will need to add a 2nd set of wires (or 1 wire see below) with a switch wired directly from the battery to the pump - in other words add a 2nd set of wires connected directly to the pump motor that do not include the bilge pump's auto off/on switching function

actually, if you can figure out which wire (polarity) the auto function switchs to turn the pump on you only need to add a 2nd wire of the same polarity (*ve or -ve) this wire would connect directly from the battery to the pump motor and you would add a switch in-line with this wire

I have never done this so I don't know if you have easy access to the pump motor to make this connection let us know how you make out

and whenever you add a +ve polarity wire connected to the battery post always include a in-line fuse as close to the battery as you can
