Hi Guys,

Seeking some assistance. I have a XLT1200 with the R&D power Plenum flame arrester. The mount that the hose clamp conects to (middle carb) has bloken.

Is there an easy fix for this or any suggestions at all would be appreciated.

Cheers.

If the rubber boot has torn from the body of the element there's nothing you can do to fix it. Vibration and jarring will eventually cause it to separate again. Have you tried contacting R&D? It might be warrantable?

Thanks Riva Crew.

I question to anyone that can assist.

Would the Riva style flame arresters (3 X individual) be a better option.

All suggestions are welcome.

Cheers.

The individual flame arrestors might be better in your case. There is a lot less stress on the elements as each is separate and a lot lighter. The one-piece element is heavier which could lend to the tearing problem you're experiencing.
