I am running a 1999 XLL 1200 with cut head, free flow, grate, plate, sound suppression removed (WaveEater clips too - a must have). Currently turning a Solas 12/18 at 7220 rpm at 62.5 mph. Great hole shot, beats up on all the local two seaters (quite fun). People know my GPR and won't race usually, bummer, but my XLL is good for some sleeper fun.
Anybody have input on other props, rpms, and speed on single pipe XLL/XLTs? I am very curious about anybody running a Nujet 6.0 or 6.5 on these boats. And you guys running 13/19 Solas, what rpms and speeds too ... I am thinking of putting a little taller prop in for more top speed. Carl mentioned they had very good results with a Nujet 6.5 on a ported single pipe XLL, but mine is unported.
Also, anybody know how much speed they gained by using a GPR 5 degree nozzle on their XLL/XLT? Also considering that. I wish somebody just made a 2 degree pump wedge for the Yamaha 155 mm pumps ...

Vern, if you still have the AAT, then that is worth a mile an hour or so on top end. If you don't, then we have a new model that is angled to better match up with the 3 and 5 deg nozzles.

Bill, thanks for the input. Your XLL is moving ... do you still have the stock 3 degree nozzle and an unmodified Riva plate?
Bruce, I have the AAT installed on my GPR and will keep it there. Maybe I need one on my XLL too ... but I think I will replace the prop first, then maybe put an AAT on the XLL too. Been awhile ... any news or learnings you can share on the intake grate work you did?

Vern, yes, stock nozzle. Latest edition Riva plate, unmodified. I am running washers between the hull and plate though. I was porposing (or however you spell it) badly, and started playing around with them. I ended up with 2 under the front, and 1 under the back.

Hey Vern, With the mods i have listed below...I hit 65.8 mph with a 14/20 wheel at 7,000 RPMs (w/o the Advent). This was on a Stalker Radar gun at 1,000 feet above sea level (fresh water). There is more speed to be found there. I had the prop depitched to pick up my RPM's and will be putting the Advent back. I haven't even started to dial in my carbs yet. Can't wait to see what it does at Sea-Level. It hasn't stop raining here yet, so I can't do any testing.
BTW...GPR nozzle was about a 0.5 - 1.0 mph gain. Worth it in my opinion, you could probably pick up a used one at savagemotorsports.com for about $30.00
I have a friend running a 2001 XLT with: Pro-Tec Head Riva Intake Grate R&D Ride Plate R&D D-Plate Free Flow Sealed Pump Shoe Solas (out of the box) 13/19 Turning it at about 7110. That's were you want the RPMS to be. His speed was about 60.7 on the Stalker at 1,000 feet.

Vern I think you should give the Nujet a try. We changed an XLT from a 13/19 to a 6.5 on the weekend and it picked up a couple mph. The revs only dropped about 100, like from 7250 to 7150. This was on a friends boat, I don't have mine yet.
JG What did you think of my XLT? I heard from Carl that you were out testing with him a few days ago. It should be on the truck now and heading my way.

Vern and XLT guy's ;Just got back into town and wanted to chime in. I'm running 63.5 mph @7226 rpm. No cdi mod's and pro-tec ride plate. From my listed mod's I leaned down to 120 mains, kept gold springs and have killer hole shot with dried out pipe using jet works flow control kit for s-2.I'm happy with mod's at my elevation on fresh water, will try gpr nozzle- no big deal, just have to drill and tap for reverse mounting.I have heard good things (reliability wise ) about pro-tec's cdi mod.Any thoughts or comments?
