Lennox I have heard positive opinions about them, but the defensive response from Bryan Glynn makes me wonder. I hope that I am wrong.
For the most part the feedback that I have heard has been positive.
I think that I would like to hear the rest of the story from Bryant about this issue.
Lennox you have several choices for rebuild engines, quality control and a good warranty are important but any warranty is worthless unless the warrantor stands behind their product, as long as the cause of failure was not due to the installers fault.
I'm not being defensive, just HONEST. If the guy ever emails me with some info I will be happy to look into his record, and if we goofed I'm the first one to admit it! We always stand behind our product and routinely go above and beyond for our customers. I just don't appreciate you trying to step in and for *whatever* reason stir up some controversy over a non-issue?
I can fully look into his record, pull up the compression test numbers off his block, to see if indeed there was an indication of a missing ring - which is HIGHLY unlikely to say the least. Now the possibility exists of a ring being broken, or a locator pin falling out and the ring being lost out the exhaust or something - that's possible, but hey - who knows. That's what we have a warranty for. I have yet to even know who the guy is, who determined we 'forgot a ring' or whatever.
If you think that is being defensive then I'm sorry, but it's just being fair and honest. Personally I don't see where you come into this issue unless you know him, have seen the engine, or have some other inside info you could share to clarify the issue.
BTW, we have a no-fault-warranty, so even if it's an install issue, you are covered by SBT. It's a courtesy service we provide to our customers.
Oh do I hope this doesn't get ugly and into a B*tch session. As for my own $.02 I have not heard anything but good comments about SBT and the service they provide.
That is all I have to say.

yeah whats the use of e-mailing you, I have already fixed it, are you going to reimbursed me or give me store credit? I hardly doubt that. I also said you were willing to work with me but in my opinion it was cheaper to go my route then yours. I just was telling an honest opinion. If I get the time I will jot down the numbers and send them to you, not that it will do or change anything. Like I said once that problem was taken care of it has worked fine, just costed me three or four hundred more dollars; becouse I wasn't that sure in my self to do my own work then. I did call and talk to someone at sbt as soon as I took it to the lake on the second day(becouse of break in I was putting around and I did not know if it was just becouse it wasn't broke in that it was acting funny or what) and I felt it did not run right, and my friend ran a compression test and diagnosed it, very qualified to do so. so all that I am saying is DO A COMPRESSION TEST ASAP AND GET THINGS TAKEN CARE OF BEFORE IT IS INSTALLED. not trying to start anything but he asked so I gave my opinion.
That sounds very reasonable, and all I want to find out are the facts, like who determined we 'forgot' a ring? It stands to the quality of our work, and i can honestly say that has never happened to the best of our knowlegde. If I had your engine number, RGA# or name like I said - I can lookup your inspection compression numbers and put an end to that question right away.
Bryan.......I don't know if you are aware of this or not........but it appears Fed-Ex has lost my motor. The more we look into it...the more it appears it was actually stolen rather than lost. What I need from you is what would a GP1200R motor with trued and welded crank cost from SBT.....keep in mind I would have no core to turn in due to the "lost/stolen" motor. Shoot me a price.........I'm starting to shop.

Had shipping insurance on the work only. Found out today that my State Farm Ins will consider it as a theft and reimburse us for the motor also.........THANK GOD!!!!!!!!

Sorry DMD, but we can't sell without a core - I WISH we could manufacture cases and cylinders to make our own engines, but we can't magically materialize stock cores
We have them stolen every year too...the customer will receive an empty box on some occasions even! That's why we tell all our customers sending their cores in on their own to insure it for at least $2500, up to $4500 for the newer triples.
Sorry, I don't step in and give sales pitches - you asked for opinions, and mine's biased
Yes our engines hold up very well, better than stock, to mods - our cranks are much better than the OEM's, being trued and welded. We also use anodized pistons this year.
You can do any external mod you wish and keep the warranty, but any breach of the block itself voids it.
Thanks for the feedback Bryan. I guess my second question then would be who would you recommend in getting a price quote for a completely new OEM engine.
