Currently have a Stinger 3, meticiously rebuilt engine, F/A's, rejetted carbs, pump with new wear ring and NuJet 6.5. Just finished break-in and top rpm's are 6950. Would my RPM's be higher with a D-Plate?
Thanks
TD

I asked around about this very question and to my understanding, you would turn higher rpm's with the dplate. I like the S3 because you get access to your carbs and it looks better. To get my R's up I indexed my plugs, cut the water back to 1 1/2 turns open to the S3 (thanks Mick). I now turn 7050 and I am still trying to squeek them up more but I have to do more research.

Hey man,
I am currently runnig a straight piece of tube and havent' even tried cutting the water back yet, I didn't think that would make any difference, but what the heck.

With your Stinger 3, have you had a lot of trouble keeping the S3 head attached to the stock exhaust portion? I even tried permatexing it to the pipe and it still shakes loose. It seems to stay on tight for an hour or two before I have to tighten it up again.
Thanks
TD

When Fercho installed mine he was VERY insistant that you get the boot way over the lip on the stock outlet for that very reason. Mine hasn't come off at all yet, I just managed to bust a lord mount on the rear section, nothing more though. Maybe you could ask Fercho for more detailed help, he da man. [Big Grin]

Here is what you can do to make your top rubber coupler never come off on you again. OK, now if you can't picture this then Just email me and I will go out and take a few pictures. Here it goes. Slide the coupler back like you were going to remove the pipe. Take a hack saw blade and cutting accross the pipe about 1/2 way from the end and where the coupler slides all the way up to, saw three or four marks around the pipe about 1/16" deep. Do this at 12:00, 3:00, 6:00, and 9:00 o'clock. Now when you slide the coupler back up and tighten the clamp down the rubber will have something to bite into. I have done this several times on my supercharged cars as well as me Stinger2 GPR. It will not blow off again. You may want to re tighten it after about 5 minutes the first time just to make sure it takes a good hold.

Hope this helps.
