posted 05-24-2003 07:02 PM -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Are you guys saying that Yamaha is using a double gasket -stacked- for a head gasket?
Yes, there is 3 single gaskets stacked, and i was told you can remove 1 or 2 gaskets and install the head back on useing the old one,s i,m at 4000ft and i only have 115psi, so i,m looking for a little more psi for now until i figure out what head deal i will go with....

Just my opinion, Is $300 for a new head with the right head gaskets worth using one and possibly melting your engine. Not saying you will, but they installed 3 for a reason instead of one.
Why chance it?

You would have been worried about squish clearance and a compromised gasket at the very least. Peace of mind can be worth a lot. The worst. Need I say Kaboom. Shing shing $2000.
